Stagecrafters Theater — Attraction in Philadelphia

Saw "Trouble In Mind" on Saturday (06/25). Extraordinary! I was completely captivated with the powerful, convincing presentation. The performance stirred anger in me, sympathy, empathy, fear, and the pain of dashed hopes. This performance did what great art is supposed to do, provoke thought, discussion, and deep reflection. The players - all of them - were on fire, and this soulful performance stirred real powerful emotions in all of them. You cannot "fake" it. The players, director, stage staff, everyone - threw everything they had into this play. I have ben a subscriber to The Stagecrafters for years. This was hands-down the best play ever. As I left the theater with friends, and walked towards Germantown Avenue, I felt like a "wrung-out" dish rag, completely drained, wobbling on my feet. It moved me to tears. Stagecrafters represents the best of what local theater should be for a community/neighborhood. I've seen about a half-dozen or more shows here over the past twenty-two years - from comedies, to dramas, to one-person shows, and the performances have always been top notch. Combine that with the availability of various dining options within ten blocks in either direction, and the theater makes for a great night out on the town. I also have heard they do space rentals, but have never used them for that, but not a bad idea other to help them stay...
