Had a breakfast Sandwitch this am, service spotty, cellphone users both customers and servers were a major issue. 1st guy in front of me orders in line in front of register finishes order than proceeds to stand exactly in front of register back to me talking and talking, I asked him if he was finished, he grunted something and moved about 6 inches? Hmm now I start to order and the employee iat register is texting and looking down than in a minute or so simply walks away? I order from a 2nd seemingly aware person finish a simple 1 item order and move to the last table closest to hall to restrooms.
A short time, 3 or so minutes a waitperson brings my food, no napkins, no fork or knife . no condiments I ask and I get only a napkin, Hmm I than notice condiments on a table about 10 geet away she made no reference to me about them ( it was my 1st. time there) Not very much an OK start so far? however I will see.
Than a heavy set woman anout 50 to 60 that seemed like an owner and or manager stood about less than 3 feet from my table facing me talking on a cell phone loudly about trying to resolve a broblem. This goes on an on for about 7 to 8 minutes with her still facing me, being, fairly loud sometimes nearely hovering over me.
I finally pick up mw half finished food and move to window counter seat opposite end of seating area. Bottom line FOOD 3 out of 5 stars. SERVICE AT COUNTER 1 TO 2 stars Delivery to table AGAIN 1 TO 2 stars. Management's being observant as to what's going on ...... 0 stars. Seems good training is very much lacking for Servers and managment.m
I won't be back, SAD, it's a pleasant...
Read moreThis was a hidden gem that I accidentally discovered while driving through the area. I’ve been here a few times and it’s a decent café. Their menu is pricey, but I guess it’s quality made ingredients. Their bread is baked fresh, though, I’ve never bought their loaves. I’ve only had their coffee, tea, and some dishes off the menu. I will note that their sticky bun is divine. Ask them to heat it up for you. I like that the coffee is self serve so you can always add more to your cup. They sell La Colombe for all you “Colombers” (I just made that up and I’m going with it). There’s plenty of seating whenever I go. It’s quiet so it’s perfect for getting work done or reading. They have pre-packaged sandwiches and salads for those on-the-go and need a quick bite. The place is clean and bright. I also enjoy the easy listening music they play; usually a jazz station. It’s a cute space. Love the sky window that brings in a lot of natural light...
Read moreI usually go to this coffee shop every once in a while to get the cinnamon raisin croissant, on this particular day I went against my better judgement and also purchased a coffee. I asked if they had oatmilk and the illshaped older woman at the register informed me that they did. I requested a small coffee with oatmilk and $3.50 later I received a lukewarm coffee with literally one drop of oatmilk. I asked why my coffee was $3.50 instead of the $2.50 that was listed on their menu. She/he/they said that the prices on the menu are not the actual prices and dismissively told me to have a nice day in a snarky tone. Save your time and energy and go to Starbucks or the Chestnut Hill coffee shop at the top of the hill (they have amazing coffee) if you get the urge for coffee whilst in Chestnut Hill. This place is not it. Also, the cinnamon raisin croissant that I usually get has morphed into a small dry biscuit roll, so no need to go for...
