I had a great cut and color with Taylor today. I haven’t tried a new stylist or salon in over 10 years but since I moved I needed to find someone new and I’m glad I gave this place a shot. Taylor listened to what I was looking for with color and offered good suggestions, showed me a few swatches and came up with the color I was looking for. She was super meticulous with application and even put a color block around my hair line so my skin wouldn’t stain, not something I’d seen done before. The color turned out great it was exactly what I was looking for. She was super careful with the cut as well because I wanted a blunt cut so she went over it several times and made sure it was perfect. I’m very happy with my look and glad I found someone I can go to from now on.

I’m giving Taylor 5 stars and the rest of the staff as well because they deserve it, but there’s a few things management could probably improve. This place is busy on a Saturday and it’s loud in there, really loud and the music on top of it doesn’t help. Its not a very relaxing place to read a book or magazine while you’re waiting for your color to process. Then they ran out of hot water I didn’t think it was that bad, but having a nice warm shampoo is part of the experience I look forward to when I get a cut. The staff did everything they could to make everyone comfortable and even had to get warm water for clients in tea kettles but some seemed to imply this happens often on Saturdays so yeah the owners should do something about that so staff don’t have to scramble to make customers happy in a situation that...

I can not say enough good things about Sulimay Salon. The stylists and colorists are top notch and the staff and assistants are so welcoming and friendly. I feel like I am hanging out with friends whenever I go in for an appointment. My appointments are lengthy so it is really nice to be comfortable and at ease in a salon when you are spending hours there at a time. I was nervous to find a new hair stylist when I first moved to Philly about 1.5 years ago - then I went to Cianna and all my fears melted away. Cianna is not only an amazing stylist, her skills coloring hair is unmatched. I have never received so many compliments on my hair color and style before. I am super picky about how my hair is done and she hits it out of the park every single time and always seems to understand exactly what I am looking for. Between seamlessly covering my stubborn greys and adding dimension with highlights and lowlights, her skills never cease to amaze me. Cianna is committed to learning and continuing to further her expertise and I love seeing the new techniques she brings back and uses on my hair. She is exactly what you want from your colorist and stylist. I am getting married this next year and am also looking forward to getting extensions from her for my big day. I wish I could keep her as my little secret but that wouldn't be fair, so go see Cianna and you will not regret how amazing she will have your...

Recently moved to philadelphia and in need of a place to cut my hair. My haircut is simple, usually a fade on the sides of some kind and curly on the top.

I’ve gotten a haircut once in December and it wasn’t quite what i was looking for or what I asked (a fade) and found out that the barber had cut my ear in the back when I saw I was bleeding from it. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and tried to get a haircut again today.

The hair on top was uneven, and he barely cut it to try to make it even and blended with the sides of my hair. The fade was also messed up and not even, and you can see areas of where it wasn’t blended well. The sideburns were also not symmetrical and he just cut off the part where it meets the top instead of following where my hair is naturally.

To top it off, both my ears were cut in the back and were bleeding. I had to go to another barbershop and pay again just to try to get it fixed and salvaged and they told me my ears were bleeding in the back and also agreed he didn’t do an event decent job. At the end, he didn’t know what product to use for my hair and had to ask a coworker which shows me he might not know what he’s doing.

I had to pay full price. This is not the kind of quality I expect at this price point. If a supercuts can do a better job, then that’s not a good sign....

REVIEW OF SULIMAYS SALON & STUDIO 3.15.2025 A MOST SUPERLATIVE CHILDREN’S EXPIRIENCE I have long since been a patron of Selimay’s Salon at both its original location and at the vastly larger venue on Fairmount Avenue. Today is the Ides of March, and this auspicious day marks my 2nd time we’re both my 5yo son and I both received haircuts. I must say , in no uncertain terms. that there has not been a greater degree of professionalism on display for a child of special needs with sensitivities to noise and touch that of Joanna, a seasoned stylist and mother whose unwavering patience and calming demeanor made what is usually a nightmare of a meltdown into a fun family. affair. Everything about the experience was superb and I could not recommend Joana to parents of all children of all backgrounds, hairstyles, and choice of complimentary post-haircut lollipop.

I love it here! Everyone is friendly and it’s a nice space in a great location. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My go-to stylist, Juliette Hutchison, is the BEST!!! She works magic with hair dye. If you don’t believe me, check her out on insta. I don’t know the first thing about styling my own hair and Juliette always has my back with recommendations. She’s got an eye for how it’ll turn out and what colors will blend with my natural hair color. My favorite part is that she’s so friendly and lovely while she’s expertly cutting and coloring my hair. Such a gem. I leave feeling confident and beautiful every time.
