Ahwatukee Farmers Market — Attraction in Phoenix

An excellent little farmer's market with lots of vegan food made-to-order, the AZ Tofu Co. with the absolute best tofu ever, Milk of Life with fresh oat milk... I could go on...

However, if you want to have a booth there, good luck. The website doesn't reflect current information, the contact does not respond to emails or Facebook messages. I was able to finally connect face-to-face with one of the contacts at the market. I was excited to talk to someone in person instead of inquiring about a booth through the internet. Unfortunately, she was unapologetic about not answering emails or the outdated website information. She said the person that was handling their site and social stopped doing it and oh, by the way, "we haven't been taking any new applicants for months" (though the website says otherwise) but then proceeded to tell me that they happened to have open booth space because people were cancelling. Huh. Why not answer emails or messages and maybe make a list of...

I realized that I’m spoiled by Uptown Farmers Market… this is not even 1/5 of the size of Uptown. It’s also a bit smaller than the Chandler one… The reason I went there was because I haven’t had any time on Saturday, hence a Sunday morning experience.

To be fair, there are vendors I don’t recognize who are selling their products there, so I made a few unexpected purchases. I had a few good conversations with the business owners and staff as well, because I accidentally showed up an hour early (Google failed me) while they were still setting up.

Also, the parking lot was small, and there were no designated parking for guests, so my car was trapped for about 15 minutes by a vendor’s van who was unloading...

Organic vegetables and fruits, grass fed meat and eggs, natural soaps and laundry detergent, bakery goods, Friendly farmers and shoppers, And John plane some beautiful tunes on his guitar to keep us all entertained. I highly recommend this market. The prices are good and you will be doing your part to get your food locally instead of shipped in from 1500 miles away. You can join the local community garden by showing up between 7 and 8:30 a.m. just beyond the playground by the farmers market .
