Went up to the desk while the girl was on the phone. When she hung up, she immediately looked toward her friend and started complaining about the phone conversation. Finally she looks at us and rudely tells us to go check the skates to make sure they have our sizes before paying. We go over to the skate area and it was horribly unorganized - on the ground next to the desk was a giant pile of skates thrown together. The kid working at the skates area could not have been more than 13. He seemed a little stressed but he was nice. The skates were extremely old, many of the laces were stuck in knots and some skates couldn’t be laced properly due to damage/wear and tear. Finally get skates that “fit”, but still did not wear properly. The skates were wobbly despite tightening them as much as possible. The combination of the skates being in poor condition and the very choppy ice made for a tough time skating.

From a photographer's perspective, the lights did not flicker (a huge plus) and was more than adequate to capture images of 8U games. Forget about trying to photograph through the plexiglass. 1. There are no photo holes. 2. The glass is trashed all around. Unless you have access to the bench, you can forget about capturing images. The arena appears to be well-used and was showing its age. There were a few sketchy-looking people around the parking lot. Plenty of parking. There is a restaurant / bar inside. One men's and one women's bathroom. The men's bathroom was clean. I was not on the ice, so I cannot comment on the quality of the ice.

Had horrible experience at the facility with the management. The manager named CAITLYN is Extremely rude. She must have something going in her life which was why she seemed so frustrated and irritated with her customers. We contacted AZ ICE Arcadia, Phoenix last week to celebrate our daughter's birthday. They told us, the skating was available from 12pm-3pm and after that from 3pm-4pm we were told that we could use their party room for cake cutting. After 3 pm they suddenly told us the party room wouldn't be available any more. After several requests they let us use the party room. They completely denied the phone conversation with us which included the duration of the party from 12-4pm.Within 10 mins we were forcefully and extremely disrespectfully left the party room by the manager and the employee who was the only one helping the manager . The manager Caitlyn who was so so disrespectful towards us literally took off the decorations , balloons, table mats in front of us. When my husband asked them why she was being so rude she laterally screamed at my husband. We never had that kind of customer service till date in any of the facilities in Phoenix area. They were not able to manage the place , the employee at the counter was always so annoyed with the kids if someone asks for new size of shoes. It was very uncomfortable for all of us including our guests that day. I would certainly discourage anyone who would want celebrate their dear one's special day there. Absolutely disgusting...

This place is definitely showing its age. It has withstood time in that it is still in operation, but it is in dire need of some serious renovation.

The "warm room", which is the snack bar, is often a disaster area. There is some sort of "camp" for kids, which apparently meets up in the warm room. Then destroys it. Then leaves it like that. I paid $2.50 for a "deluxe mocha", which was instant coffee, and powdered cocoa. How that constitutes "deluxe" I'll probably never know. There is no comfortable seating to be found anywhere. The skates were considerably aged. Ostensibly in an attempt to clear the condensation on the viewing glass (but failing miserably) there was a large fan blowing the cold air down toward the seating, just to ensure you weren't able to be warm at all. (Not a major problem the day I went, as it was approaching supernova temps outside) There was actually a diaper on the floor in the "warm room", that remained there for the entire duration I was at the rink, which was almost 3 hours.

I would sooner pay the cost to go to the Ice Den. It is far cleaner, much more maintained, has comfortable seating, much more, and much...

I love this location. I found my coach and my ice rink here. Ice Den to me is too ritsy and way too busy for public session practice. If you are a Figure Skater, the Ice Den wouldn't be for you. I say this because it's not only too busy during public sessions, you are also restricted from doing any advance tricks for public safety reasons. You have to pay 10 dollars (may be a bit more, not 100 percent sure) an hour for a pre scheduled practice time. AZ Ice Arcadia is not too busy during the weekdays and you can practice your more advance tricks during public session. I would five star this location, however, I had two unfriendly experiences, each time with the same teenager to young adult boy. I haven't encountered him for a while now, thankfully. Other than him the staff is friendly. They have a break area with some games. They also have a Tavern for alcohol but I have never been. The ice is well taken care of. (There is a forever nich in the ice here and there but there are only like two spots) All in all this is my go to Ice Rink. I really feel comfortable during my practice sessions. 🙂 Also my...
