My experience July 28, 2021, was excellent to a point. Having been treated for almost two years by Dr Deluca, I have always been confident and comfortable with her and her staff's demeanor, care and treatment. That assessment has not changed. It remains outstanding. But my at my last appointment, I became uncomfortable. I am comfortable being undressed in front of male or female medical professionals. But I was not prepared for a male assistant that day. He was professional to a point. He didn't appear focused on the treatment process. While I was receiving my treatment, the male attendant, appeared to deliberately look down at some paperwork, which I felt was his attempt to make me feel relaxed, with my breasts exposed in his presence. I am almost 75 years old, and I like my 74-year old body --every wrinkle, scar and sag. For him to look down at paperwork and not at the what the doctor was doing or anticipating how to assist her if needed, made me feel uncomfortable. I guess I had gotten use to the prior assistants, actively observing and anticipating the doctor's needs, and the needs of the patients. Instead, he seemed embarrassed to be there, or perhaps felt I was embarrassed by his presence. To the contrary for my part, I am so excited about getting successful keloid treatment that I have been actively seeking for close to 30 years, that I am not concerned about whose looking at my 74--year-old self. Therefore, that male assistant, in my opinion, needs more "bed-side" training on how to behave in a medical environment where there are elements of nudity, and disfigurement. Such training can help him to focus on the treatment and healing process, and progress, rather than his own, or his perceived embarrassment of the patient. My comment is meant to help, and not condemn. Overall, my last appointment got me in and out quickly, and I am so excited and very satisfied about my treatment progress. Thank you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been coming to this clinic for over 8 years and have usually had a pleasant experience the last few times Iāve come in the staff specifically the administrative assistants at the front desk have been consistently rude, disingenuous, curt and seemingly annoyed by me, checking in. I absolutely love the Dr and the service and care Iāve received but, the initial impression and entry is something I end up having to āget over ā each time I arrive ⦠and since Iāve had numerous cancer scares , Iām already extremely stressed each time I arrive and the front desk does not help this situation whatsoever⦠hoping to alleviate the stress I brought my ESA dog that has paperwork and is in weekly service animal training and was told she couldnāt accompany me .. which was strange since I had brought her before but, that is just one example ..which I would have been fine with if the atmosphere wasnāt so uncomfortable & unwelcoming & simply not acceptable. I also had received the incorrect diagnosis a few years ago and was basically writing my eulogy until they called me back and apologized that they had made an error and I didnāt have stage 4 melanoma⦠they had gotten me mixed up with another patient⦠hence ; more backstory about my anxiety at the dermatologist. I think one of the key factors is the focus more on beauty and anti- aging treatments and therefore the receptionists donāt take it seriously and are acting like they are working at a Sephora counter vs an actual dermatologist clinic. I hope this helps and the front desk staff can have a little more compassion, empathy, professional courtesy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI tried booking an appointment for a routine skin check. I chose this location because it was close to home. I filled out all of my documents online, provided my insurance details and had my referral document printed and sent over to their office. I arrived at my appointment on time and the receptionist said I could not be seen because my referral had not been uploaded onto the United Health portal and that my referring PCP had to do it. I asked if I could be seen WHILE my PCP uploaded the referral to the portal so I did not miss my appointment. The snotty blonde receptionist said "If you want to pay out of pocket". So I stayed on hold while my PCP tried to upload the referral. I got off the phone because I was assured it was in process. One minute later the snotty blonde called me up to tell me that the doctor no longer had time to see me (it was 10 minutes past my appointment start time) and that I would have to reschedule. She said it with an unapologetic and smug look on her face.
The place looks immaculate and I hope the doctors provide nice services, but I will never know because their front desk is managed by a rude gatekeeper who has zero consideration for other people's time. Maybe you should try a new line of work.
I asked my primary care doctor to refer me elsewhere and I am very happy I did so. Nobody deserves to be treated with such...
