1ST UPDATE: The morning I wrote the Google review on this store, Alex (the store owner) called to apologize and remediate the concerns and unaccepting behaviors that occurred in the store on 32nd Street. He verified my statements using the store’s cameras, offered me discounts on my products and shipping. I feel like he went above and beyond to make me comfortable with this company and to resolve the issues, staying in communication with me while Edgar, the manager of the Del Sol furniture on 32nd Street, handled my orders in the store. I changed the rating from 1-star to 3-star for the moment. A future update will be made when I receive my furniture.
2ND UPDATE: N/A
MAIN POST: I was at this store 2 days ago, on Tuesday, looking to purchase furniture since I had already looked online and applied/was approved for financing options.
Along with 2 other families, I had to wait outside because the office staff was late opening. Apparently they went for coffee and donuts, and were unable to make it back in time to open the store.
I was probably the youngest person there. I'm 31-years-old, but I look much younger. I bet they thought I was a kid that would waste their time, so they never approached me to see if I needed assistance. Meanwhile, any person that walked through the door was greeted and helped around the store. I was with someone and he noticed how they were treating me too.
After going up to someone and asking for help, I was handed off to another person instead. When I told Walter Gastelum the items I wanted, he was slow since the computer systems were not loading the website. Understandable. I am patient and can wait. But the guy never started a conversation like with all the other shoppers. We sat in awkward silence the entire time.
I changed a few items on him while we were sitting there:
Firstly, I asked if I could change the color of the sofa or the pillows, cause I did not like them. I was told "no." When I later looked online, it was an option to change the color of the sofa (though still couldn’t swap pillows)!
Secondly, I had been looking at a rug that was $199.00. When I changed the rug on him, he told me it would only be $24 more. After looking at my finance paperwork, I was charged $124 more.
Thirdly, I inquired about floor lamps. I told him I liked one but wasn't wanting it. He still added it to my finance paperwork. I knew he wasn't listening to me, and I caught him adding that to my paperwork. I had him remove it.
He also charged me an additional $43 on my debit card. I was called later that night and was told by someone else he had overcharged me and they planned to refund that, as I still had money left over from my financing budget.
He took my ID and forgot to give it back, so now I have to drive an additional 20 minute drive back there today.
Overall it's probably the worst experience I've had with a furniture store. I'm visiting another location today, so this furniture deal I made with Walter Gastelum may be...
Read morePlease READ Your contact. Make sure you have in writing return or exchange policies regarding specifically the item you are taking home. My sister was told Don't about taking the mattress home if your not too sure about it. We let you take it home for 30 day trial and after that we can return it or exchange it. With that guarantee she didn't think twice about signing the contract and taking that beautiful mattress home. Almost immediately she noticed that the mattress was just too firm for her to get a good night's sleep but thought she needed to wait a couple of days just to get acclimated and now we're at a week of no sleep and the little sleep she's getting is very uncomfortable and she's waking up sore a different parts of her body. I urge her to call them and tell him to come pick it up not only is she showing physical body aches she has become highly irritable Completely almost impossible to talk to. January 4th 2024 was the last day I saw my sister smile and laugh. Since we are practicing inseparable that was about the same time I smiled too. I don't know how long I'm going to be able to be understanding avoid a agreement. I am absolutely miserable the reason I'm writing this review that my sister just informed me that's she tried to return it she called two weeks later and try to return it but they said she needed to wait the 30 days she went back in a 30 days and they said no returns but we could exchange it so she picked out a different mattress that was much softer and unfortunately it was half the price of the current mattress so she was told that that would not be an option because it was a lower price that she could take it home but she was still have to pay the full price for the mattress plus the one she took home and unfortunately there was not one of equal value that have the softness that she needs and basically is just taking home a slightly less firmer mattress home so what that means to me is that this nightmare is just the beginning. We are older lady's with Health issues I will have no choice but not hanging out with my once sweet beautiful sister. This is extremely heartbreaking I'm able to lose my Best best friend in this whole wide world. PLEASE READ and GET it in WRITING. AFTER YOUR 30 DAYS TRIAL. YOU CAN RETURN OR EXCHANGE FOR ANY MATTRESS LOWER OR HIGHER PRICE. She begged and plead with 3 different managers. All them said the same thing equal value or higher you can do exchange. Otherwise you take this softer mattress home you will still have to pay full price of the other mattress! Plus the full price of this soft...
Read more⚠️⚠️⚠️🚨🚨🚨This business is horrible the staff is so ignorant doesn’t even know what they are doing. I purchased furniture from them and I get paid twice a mont on the 15tj and the end of the month 30/31 I requested that my payments be due on either of days I made ALL OF MY PAYMENTS ON TIME on the due date they gave me the staff stated that my due date was the 10th of every month but since I have a “5 day grace period” I could make my payments on the 15 day of the months and it would NOT NEGATIVELY IMPACT my credit/ pay history the staff was just too LAZY to rewrite the loan in order to give me the due date I had initially requested. Mind you I went out of my way sometimes to make sure that the payment made it into their office on time every month I went as far as to even pay someone to go pay my payment in person on time (since I was at work). So when the time of the last payment came due (after 18 months of on time payments ) I went in to make the payment as usual I paid and asked them if I can get a different piece of furniture since I had built up an excellent pay history at this point, however come to find out that I was able to get anything since I had been reported as making my payments LATE they said the GRACE PERIOD does negatively impact my payment history and credit and they had been reporting my payments as LATE this whole time. Maybe I should’ve been monitoring my credit Myself unfortunately w didn’t know any better I was 22 years old this was my first big purchase on my OWN I WILL⚠️⚠️⚠️ NEVER USE THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN ⚠️⚠️⚠️ DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO 🚨🚨🚨🚨ANYONE DINT DO IT GO SOME WHERE ELSE AS THE STAFF IS VERY IGNORANT AND RHEY DEFINITELY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!‼️🚨!
