Horrible service. The owner of the shop always gives an attitude when making a purchase or asking a question about cost of a card or certain packs. This time, I walk into the store, ask to buy 1 pack of cards. New guy says hold on, as the store was fairly busy with a tournament, which I didn't mind. I wait 20 minutes standing in front of the register right next to him. He completely ignores me, takes pictures with his friends in the store, helps out a long line of people that came in after. So thanks for helping out the other dozen people, getting them their packs and purchases, taking pictures with your homies Unless you play tournaments here, you might as well go to Toy Temple. They are typically cheaper and offer a rewards system if you purchase frequently.
*EDIT: This is also a response to the owner. It's quite comical at this point, but he seems to confuse a the people writing a review. I'm a single guy. I'm not confusing who the owner is - I've had a discussion with you about opening the store, buying/selling cards, which you've decreased as it's hard to turn over some of the cards. You probably don't know who this is, because I've always come in with a good attitude, never complained, even when service was poor and even when you would give an attitude with some of the questions I've asked you. Please don't reply when you don't know who is writing your review, you make yourself look a bit like a fool. Again, for new customers, only go here if you're into tournaments. Otherwise, go somewhere else where service is much better, people are much nicer, and most of the time, prices are better (or have rewards system): TOY TEMPLE, PHOENIX GAMING LOUNGE, NORTH VALLEY GAMES - just to name a few...
ย ย ย Read moreOwner of the store always seems like he's having the worst day. Extremely rude. His muscle guy employee is nice to his friends in the store, but will not provide service if he's talking to his friends. One of his workers are nice, but mot sure if he's still there. Some of the worst people. Never had this experience in any card or collectable store I've been too, and I've been to virtually all around the Phoenix/Scottsdale area
Edit (for response): Hey muscle guy; sorry to break it to you, but the nice guy I was talking about was a skinnier/shorter gentleman. You honestly do seem nice, but dismissive of those who you don't know. I wasn't upset because I didn't get to play in the event; I don't play any card games, just collect because I enjoy the art - don't even know how to play. I was just trying to make a purchase, proceeded to wait and be ignored while being less than 5 feet away from you for most of it. I understand you had to take care of the people in the event, but a purchase takes less than a minute. Also, you took care of others who walked into the store before even getting back to me. For anyone else, look at the other reviews on here about the customer service. It clearly just isn't me. Not only that, but look at the response from the store owner and employees, rude as well. It's one thing to be rude, it's another to be dismissive of complaints and not even consider that changes could be made... Quite disappointing for a store that should provide happiness and joy to kids and...
ย ย ย Read moreUnfriendly staff, insulting prices for selling cards.
Edit: I sold 4 cards that were a least close to reasonable. The entire time you were huffing and puffing and I got the clear impression you didn't want me in the store. I also called ahead of time to ask about selling bulk and was told yes we are looking to buy bring down your collection. I also understand stores can't pay full value but offering around 10% of value is insulting, 30% would've been reasonable. You then offered to pay $100 for several hundred dollars worth of cards. You also glanced over and tossed aside my most expensive cards and acted as if they were worthless, I know the value of my own cards, TCG Player is a great website for this.
What your reply tells me is that you only care about your image. The entire experience felt like a shady pawn shop experience which left a bad taste in my mouth. I instantly regretted even selling you those 4 cards which you didn't even have me sign any kind of proof of sale which is strange. If you had simply said "we aren't looking to buy bulk" over the phone I wouldn't have even bothered to come by and that would've been that.
After this I went over to North Valley Games where even though they were too busy to look at my collection they talked to me in a friendly manner and broke down how they do things without being condecending and gave me a time where they'd be able to look over everything.
My biggest point for you is don't be a jerk, be friendly and don't...
