Staff is friendly and helpful (note the two stars instead of one/none) with the exception of the money window. I mean they are all nice once they are in there helping, but their response time to assist customers is a joke. I've even had someone (and I think he's one of the managers, no less) walk away before I was even done with my transactions. I guess he figured he did the first thing I asked so he must be done, and hurried out the door while I was talking. I stood there in disbelief, it took him almost five minutes after chatting up one of the clerk's, to even acknowledge me in the first place! So I just waited around, then I asked a worker if they even carried the item I was looking for (at the money window). He said "no, it's in the machine" and pointed, I checked thoroughly and it was not what I was looking for at all. So I asked a clerk to get someone to help me that actually worked the window. I don't know maybe even that manager guy would come back? Well after 8 more minutes in the nearly-secluded store, but I finally saw him come out again.unfortunately he was shaking his head saying "no, no, another clerk will be out to assist you shortly". I waited another 5 minutes looking at the guy standing around leaning on a register and shooting the breeze with another clerk... Not cool. If I was trying to get a bus pass before work, I would've missed it for sure, and quite possibly even been late for work. This is awful considering, I was in there at a very slow time of the morning, and that the manager made me wait longer after he up and left while I was standing there talking to him. I just figured he had to get something or an emergency trip to the little boys room. No respect at all. Speaking of bathrooms, what an utterly disgusting place to go relieve yourself, I was just running in to wash my hands on a previous visit, and no, never again!. They really need to care for their bathrooms more. There's trash on the floor, paper with I-don't-know-what-was on-it down there. The smell alone is beyond any other and the grime, you can see layers of gunk on floors walls and even on the sink and toilet! I've never even needed to use the word deplorable until now. Come on, people! Better luck on my next visit, hopefully...
Read moreI was in line for over an hour and the guy/customer ahead of me was using a check and he claimed to be a loyal customer anywho he wrote out a check and he said I always pay with checks here and he asked the cashier multiple times if she can flip it that is how he would normally see them do it and she refused and he's pleading with her to try it one time or to call a manager he needed the groceries for his family and she still refused (even yeah to call the manager) so for 20 minutes she kept running it through the same way (which obviously didn't work the first 5x) and he had $312.72 worth of groceries and the computer gave the option to manually enter it he again pleaded for her to manually enter it he needed the food again for his kids. She refused. So an hour in line one register open and then another 20-30 minutes her trying to run this check which it shows a dang picture on the machine how to face it and she was facing it wrong the whole time and was very rude to this customer he offered to write another check and she refused to take that one and said either pay cash or come back with a debit/credit card and she voided his transaction before giving him a chance to even try to get any other way of paying. I was obviously next she didn't say a word to me she voided his transaction he tried asking her what's going on she leaves and another 5 minutes pass and no one to be found and a new cashier comes and she says hello to me and scans my 4 items (over an hour now I'm waiting for 4 lil things) and he asked her what's up with his food and she said I'm sorry I have no idea whats going on I was told to handle the next customer. So, he was obviously pissed at that point and left. That lady should not be working in any type of customer service environment if she is going to be so rude and just walk away without explanation or at least try flipping it one time like he begged her to (the computer screen even showed that it was not receiving any account numbers and to try the transaction again). She killed it for me shopping there after that because that was just wrong and very...
Read moreToday 11/4/18, I went to Food city in Arizona (35th ave & Glendale Blvd) around noon or so & was shopping for about 1 hr or 1.5 hrs . While I was standing in checkout line, I was talking to other customer's when the cashier gave me my change & receipt together. As I was putting my groceries in the bags I must of set the money down (or dropped), because when I got home I could not find the money & receipt. I looked in my vehical & checked all the bags without much luck. I called the store & spoke with the manager "Manuel" & asked him, if I return to the store could he please check the cameras so he could see I was there earlier. He told me that would only be possible if I had a receipt. I explained to him that my money & receipt was together, so I don't have both. I begged & pleaded with him that I'm a regular customer & if I returned to the store could he just check the cameras so he could see I was there. This time he made many excuses & many reason's why he couldn't check the cameras, so now I'm out of $25. I'm very angry, because I come to this store on a regular basis & I cannot believe how I was treated by this Manager!! I'm writing this review because this manager obviously don't care about his customer's. I guess as long as you spend your money at this store & never have any problems then you will always be welcomed back. "I hope other manager's at other Food City stores are more considerate & more...
