DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A SEVERE NAIL INFECTION. I have to post a new review as some may miss my previous edit on my old review. I got my nails done at gloss and feathers on two separate occasions, once in February 2024 and once on Mother’s Day, and developed a nail infection after BOTH appointments a few days later (in February, my finger got infected, in May my toe got infected). I have never had a nail infection in my life. And instead of gloss and feathers taking accountability, they tried to frame my review as if I said I went there with an existing nail infection. This is 100% NOT true. I have NEVER, EVER had a nail infection prior to getting my nails done at Gloss and Feathers. I have already filed a complaint with the state board (and I submitted proof of the ER doctor stating this is from a nail salon). My biggest regret is giving them another chance after they gave me a nail infection on my finger back in February. I went back on Mother’s Day because they’re a minute away from me and no other salons had availability that day, and I just wanted to spend my first Mother’s Day getting pampered. Instead I got a severe toe nail infection days after my appointment with them, that’s now cost me literal thousands in urgent care and emergency room visits due to the pain and the severity of the infection. I had a fever so high (103.4) that I had to go to the emergency room, and my medical records from that visit state that this infection (that caused the fever) is FROM A NAIL SALON. Unlike Gloss and Feathers tried to claim that I had it before I came in. The ER doctors literally said this is only something that could’ve happened from a nail salon. I don’t do my nails at home, the only people who have touched my nails since I moved to Arizona are Gloss and Feathers. Also, in their reply to me, you’ll notice they said that they don’t service people with infections. Yet they’re simultaneously accusing me of coming in with an infection. IF that was the case (it 100% is NOT, I did NOT have a nail infection prior to my appointments with them) how were they not able to recognize the infection and refuse service? The only answer is: the nail infection didn’t exist. Because if it DID exist (and it did NOT), they’re admitting that their techs don’t know how to recognize nail infections and therefore, won’t refuse service for an infection, which is extremely dangerous for all clients, OR that their nail techs DID recognize an infection on my nail that day (they didn’t) and they still proceeded with the service and chose money over client safety and proper infection control. Regardless of how they frame it, with the truth or their lie, all versions are HORRIBLE and NEGLIGENT on their part. But the TRUE version is that I got a nail infection FROM THEM. I did NOT go in with a nail infection, because I have never had an infected nail prior to becoming a client of theirs. In my first review, all I wanted them to do was take accountability and apologize. But no, they chose to lie and now, when I recover from the horrific pain I’m in I unfortunately have to see to it that they go out of business so no one else suffers like this. The pain I am in is insane. And I didn’t get as much as a “we’re sorry” from them. They could’ve rectified this and they chose not to and that is why I’m going scorched earth on them. Enjoy the absolutely horrific pictures of my infected nails courtesy of Gloss and Feathers :)

EDIT: for full transparency the pictures were taken 08/30 not today. I am posting to prevent others from having a likewise experience. I waited to post a review until my bank could hear back from the owner about a refund which was refused. I asked for the services to be fixed as I did not intend to pay $70 plus a generous 20% tip for services that would barely last me a week. I had full intentions of coming back to continue getting my nails done here if the services would have held up. I was not looking for free services only to correct a very dissatisfactory nail experience. I would have been more than happy to receive what I thought I was paying for and that be it. However the owner immediately chose to accuse me of trying to scam the salon because i was not happy that I paid for something that did not last. I was informed that the salon has a 5 day policy to fix nails which is convenient because my nails did not last past 6 days. I have never had an experience where a salon was unable to fix a design at the week mark exactly. If it had come off any longer I would have sucked it up and never returned, but the customer service was the icing on the cake. And, you did not "do everything you could to fix it" as you were planning on charging me to have the nails fixed until I had to call to explain that I wanted the redo appointment cancelled. And then I was going to be charged to cancel that appointment. I was not educated on aftercare as you say until we spoke on the phone 7 days after my appointment. I have never had a gel design over dip last less than 2 weeks and I'm sure others can confirm. A truly disappointing experience. If you want to pay a lot of money for nails that won’t last more than 6 days and have your appointment switched when you’re there then this is the place you must be looking for. And to top that the owner likes to accuse honest people of being scammers for thinking the money they are paying is for honest services. I don’t take reviews lightly and have included photos of my nail experience. Such an unprofessional experience please save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere.

I wish I didn’t have to write this review because I really liked this place at first. I got a dip manicure done about a week ago. Within four days, my thumb nail polish chipped off. I went back yesterday to get it fixed and one of the guy employees was pointing at me and saying he wasn’t going to fix my nail because he’s not the one who originally did my nails. He said it very loudly while I was sitting right there. He then proceeded to argue with another employee about it and the receptionist got involved to try and help me out. I decided just to schedule an appointment for today to get it fixed. I went in this morning to get it fixed and they redid my nail with a totally different shade. As you can see in the picture, my thumb is a different color than the rest of my nails. I have gotten powder dip done several times here and it always chips within a week. I will not be spending any more money here when there’s so many other nail salons in the area.

DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT A SEVERE NAIL INFECTION.

I got my nails done at gloss and feathers on two separate occasions, once in February 2024 and once on Mother’s Day, and developed a nail infection after BOTH appointments a few days later (in February, my finger got infected, in May my toe got infected).

This is the SECOND time I’ve gotten a nail infection from this place. I’ve gone maybe 5 or so times total, and I always get the same thing, a hard gel manicure. The set before this one, my right middle finger had a super painful infection. But I needed my nails done on Mother’s Day and they were the only ones with availability plus they’re a minute down the street from me. I had a bad feeling about it, but I had no other choice for getting my nails done that day.

Well lo and behold, I go get a hard gel mani and gel pedi on Mother’s Day, and I now have ANOTHER (excruciatingly painful) infection on that same right middle finger AND my right big toe. I’m so upset. I have to take another round of antibiotics now because of how swollen my finger and toe is. And this is now over $200 that I’ve paid to essentially get nail infections. My finger hurts so bad and walking on my infected toe is torturous. I can barely wear shoes because of how bad it hurts. There’s puss leaking from both if they’re even slightly pressed on.

I saw so many disgusting state board violations the last time I was there on Mother’s Day, that I promised myself I’d never return and I’ll absolutely be calling the state to file a report just to save someone else from experiencing the pain I have from this nail salon. The guy who did my last set prior to Mother’s Day also cut my fingers SO insanely bad (I was bleeding and he wiped it off with his bare finger and continued touching tools without washing his hands) that I could barely hold anything for TWO weeks because my fingers hurt so bad and were super swollen, plus one got infected. I should’ve taken that as a sign to never return, but my Mother’s Day set is the final straw.

0/10 recommend. Go here if you want to get an infection. I NEVER leave bad reviews but I’d feel complicit in other people’s suffering if I didn’t warn everyone about this place. That’s how bad this is.

Edit: their response is framing this as if my nails were already infected when I came in. This is FALSE. My nail infection came AFTER getting my nails done. I have medical records proving this. I did NOT come in with an already infected nail. I waited for the first nail infection to clear entirely, I went back and got another manicure and pedicure on Mother’s Day (with NO nail infections), and within 3 days, I had a NEW nail infection from this place. Their response is evidence that they don’t take accountability or care about GIVING CUSTOMERS NAIL INFECTIONS. Also, notice how they didn’t address how their tech cut me multiple times and wiped my blood with his BARE hands?! They’re purposely misleading and misinterpreting my review in their reply to absolve themselves of responsibility. I’ve already filed a state...

This was my 2nd visit to this salon. It's not close to my home but I liked that I was able to easily make appointments online. However, after this last visit, I will not be going there again.

First of Haley, who I scheduled my appointment with was great. I only has a couple issues with her. She would try pushing my cuticles back with her fingernails while filing my nails and it was very painful. I asked her to use a tool instead which was much more comfortable but still not the best. I will remember to do this myself using some sort of moisturizer before any future nail appointments to avoid that from happening again to me. Also, the acrylic on my nails was built up so thick that they already looked like they'd grown out the day after getting them done. I can't say that either time I visited this salon, that I was truly happy with my nails, but I was willing to keep giving it a try. Haley also did my pedicure, and that was amazing. Hands down one of the best pedicures I've had.

The main reason for this 2 star review was the treatment I received from Haley's sister and fellow employee at the salon, Rachel. For some backstory, I booked my appointment online for 6 PM. I was so happy that later appointments were offered since my work schedule usually doesn't allow me to go get my nails done on a work night. Since it was getting close to their closing time of 7 PM, Haley enlisted Rachel to finish my nails while she did my pedicure. Rachel proceeded to lecture me, while she painted my nails, that I should book my appointment earlier if I wanted Haley to do both services. She stated that they closed at 7 and that this was too much work for Haley. My response was that I was only able to book the services at that time because it was offered on the website and that if that doesn't work for the employees, someone should update the appointments. Rachel then started to argue with me which really made me upset! I'm spending my hard earned money AND I made an appointment for these services and now I'm being rushed out the door while being scolded?! It was a horrible experience and I'll never go there again. I had 2 follow up appointments scheduled for the coming weeks, but after that experience, I decided to cancel them. OH! And on top of all of that, the GEL paint has chipped on my thumb nail. It's only been 3 days. My gel nails typically last 2-3 weeks with no chipping. I'm totally unsatisfied...
