First off, I have been to some bougie places and paid $120 for a fill. I have also been to some really low end places and paid $18 for a fill. My point is - I'm open minded and I go for quality over location. I read the reviews before making my appointment so I knew what I was getting into. Yes, the location is sketchy... I'm talking industrial area, scrap yards and train tracks. The decor is gross - plastic severed hands with multicolored tips everywhere... enough to remind me of Season 1 of Dexter and the Ice Truck Killer. Yet, the quality of my full set was very good. I paid $45 (btw fills are $30), and would've been happy paying more for the same service at a much nicer location. So why the 1 star? The absolute disrespect for my time and my husband's time.
I made an appointment for myself (full set) and my husband (mani/pedi) a day in advance. We walked in at 3pm for our scheduled appointment, and sat around staring at the grotesque plastic severed arms until 3:30... By then, I wanted to leave, but we decided that getting a walk-in elsewhere on a Friday afternoon would be tough. Finally at 3:45pm somebody sat me for my full set. My husband was left sitting there until 4:05pm before anybody acknowledged him. I made two attempts to remind the staff about his 3pm appointment. Two women walked in with 4pm appointments and were seated sooner. I said again - he had an appointment at 3pm. By that time I was halfway through my full set and we didn't feel like staying there until 5:30pm or whenever it would be that his appointment would eventually be finished. So he left with nothing. I felt so embarrassed because I invited him there as my treat.
Honestly, if things had gone smoothly, I would have returned every two weeks for a fill despite the location being so sketch and the interior looking like the trophy room of a serial killer. The full set was good enough to make up for such obvious short comings. However, I cannot patronize a place that has such utter lack of respect for customers. Not even an apology for the hour long delay and obvious snub to my man. I can't even remember the last time I didn't tip for a service, but today I made an exception. No...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI made an appt and was immediately served! Very happy with this to begin with. Sometimes I make appts at other places and still have to wait. Beyond that Kevin did my nails and he did a fantastic job. I got acrylic nail fill and wanted something for the holidays. He saw the picture I had and made it happen exactly to my liking. He took a bit of a long time BUT in my book that is good and so worth it because my nails came out flawless. He gave me the exact shape I wanted and my gel has no bumps or anything. The picture does not do my nails justice at all. I was really nervous because when I pulled up i just assumed it might not be a good place because of the way it looked outside (which says something bc I don't usually feel that way bc of where I usually be staying at) and the price and the location. Also the display of gel options is not that great. But i said well dont judge a book by the cover. I was not disappointed. The gel options are misrepresented because the color looks WAY better on than it does on display. Dont be discouraged like I was. Ask for Kevin bc that's who I had!! Lately I notice other nail salons come out lumpy and I think it is because they rush and dont file enough. My nails are smooth and also perfect detail and coloring. Will be coming to this salon and Kevin on the regular when I get back from my winter break. Oh also I paid $30 for this fill which is less than other places and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never leave bad reviews and I understand December is a busy time of year, but it was the lack of communication and hygiene issues that has caused me to feel like I need to. I arrived 25 minutes early so I didnāt mind waiting until my appointment time, granted even as I first walk in, no one greets me despite me greeting them and they kind of just brush me off. The guy calls me over about 10 minutes before my appointment time, note Iām only coming in for a quick gel color change on my real nail. He puts the foil on to soak them off then asks me to sit back in the wait chairs. * this is the biggest reason I was upset *. No communication or looks this whole time, I sat over there with the foil on my nails for 35 minutes. At this time, thereās a lady getting her feet done with her mask off for at least 20 minutes eating fast food by the front and everyone with no staff saying anything with their COVID guidelines. My fingers were burning and so dried out by the time they called me back. Then the lady is decent but she rushes and immediately doesnāt do a simple nail color that I asked until sheās almost done and to be fair, she asked if Iād like her to fix it a couple of times but I didnāt want to be there any longer than I already had. She didnāt file the sides or anything like that to keep them better quality longer so I donāt know how theyāll look in a couple of days but...
