My first apt I had set for 4pm on a Sunday. I didn’t get seen until 5:15 that Sunday. I‘m a male who wanted a simple part down the middle with 2 braids. Took the girl in total 4 min to do my hair. Then I sat under a dryer (I was forgot about and sat under the dryer for 10-12 min, so I just took myself out)
When I was done I asked how much it was, she kinda looked around like she didn’t know and said 35$
I figured ya that was steep for a 4 minute 2 braid job but the braid wasn’t terrible (wasn’t amazing) so I said ok and even tipped 4$ after.
I come for a second time a few weeks later. I figured i got em at a bad time last time. They were super busy and I had to wait an hour on the weekend for a scheduled apt. So this time I scheduled for 230 on a Thursday. I got there and they saw me Immediately Which was nice!
Again 4-5 min on my head. Under a dryer. This time, I wanted to ask again about how much it would cost. I felt like 35$ was a rip off since I asked around after I got em done and they said most wouldn’t charge over 20-25$ for my simple braid. Guess how much it was this time? .... 40$ lol! So I said “nah, last time it was 35$. I got it in my phone I’ll show you.” She said “oh if it’s in your phone your fine”
Here’s why this is displeasing. My braids are not good. I went directly to my barber after and he laughed at me lol (known him for a while) he recommended I take em out and get em done again by a professional before he cut it. One braid is super fat and the line isn’t remotely straight. So that sucks!
But MOST IMPORTANTLY this means that this business does not have set standards for provided services. They literally size you up when you come in and squeeze out what they can from you. Which is so unprofessional that I think they should be reported to the better business bureau.
Barbers, hair stylist, etc... make an income based off trust with their customers. Not to mention, TIPS! With prices that steep, tips are farther and fewer between.
I personally wouldn’t trust an establishment ran this way. If you read this far, do yourself a favor and take the time to find any...
Read moreI give three because I had some experiences. First time I came in for a very simple straight braided back style. Definitely shouldn't have been almost 200 dollars but it was. The stylist was also late. She braids but it's more so the product she uses that keeps the braids together. The music was inappropriate for children to hear but to each their own. I just didn't like that it was anything playing with kids in there. The second time the stylist was late again. The hair was longer then she expected and she still did our hair so I appreciate that. However she wasn't able to do one of the style we originally planned for before she came and she upped the price to do something more simple, because she wanted the same amount she quoted at first. This last time I came I asked if they could do a take down she wasn't able to make it and asked the day before the appt if she can reschedule. someone else at the shop took her place instead and we did so. When I came my child's hair was curled as if it washed and it wasn't washed. If it was washed it wasn't not washed correctly. My childs texture is very different when it's washed. It's automatically curly and thin. It's not thick after being washed at all. Even after blowing drying it's thin but puffy straight. Her hair had been combed out probably blow dried and combed but it wasn't washed. Her hair was still formed as when you take down braids, curly from product and lent was still in my daughters hair from the braids being up so long. I paid for the wash 25 dollars with the take down. When the last time a wash was added on it was 15. the last time my son got single twist on his Mohawk and it's was 60 dollars. These were regular twist that untwist easily not two strand normal twist. Then it was 90 for single braids in the same style. Pricing changed too much, the appointment time consistency and this with hair not being washed was the last experience for me. God bless you all...
Read moreThe atmosphere in the shop is welcoming but Angela, is so awesome! I’ve been having a hard time finding a loctician in AZ to CARE for my daughters locs. I brought my daughter to her appointment 45 min late (forgot my debit card) and she STILL took care of her. No attitude or nothing. I really appreciated that because I really did feel bad bringing her in so late and was worried we would be turned away coming in so late. Anyway, my daughter needed some loc reattachments and a much needed retwist and she really came through!! My daughter loves her hair and likes Angela and said she wants to come back for her to do her hair again. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell she loves what she does and actually cares about her clients and the health of their hair. I have locs as well and will be coming back to her for my services as well, for sure. We are happy and satisfied with the services provided today, she has gained 2 new clients!
Update!
We will not be returning to this shop. Me and my 11yr old had an appt today, 4/3 and Angela was not there to do our hair, let’s just say, service was absolutely terrible. My husband who came in to check on us had to leave because he felt very uncomfortable some of the girls in there were just “doing too much “ cussing and running around, in and out and just not being professional at all. Such a different experience from my first time coming here and this time, it was enough for me to say we will not be coming back, I am very disappointed, my kid is too. It was a hot mess. I have a business as well and know how important reviews are to the success or downfall of a company but there should be a level of professionalism AT ALL TIMES, whether the shop owner/manager or whatever is...
