Discovering this place was like finding buried treasure.

I lived within walking distance of here for two years and never even heard of Pirate's Place until after I'd moved out. After finally taking a walk through... WOW. The atmosphere in this place is incredible, and the owner, Jeff, is pretty cool himself. He has a fantastic eye for antiquities, especially paintings, and even features some of his (or his family's) work, which wouldn't look out of place in multi-million dollar buildings, and - I've come to learn - some of it IS.

The store has a healthy selection of books, statuettes, trinkets, a diverse vintage music section, and of course many, many fantastic paintings.

Everything there tells a fascinating story, and Jeff himself has just as many - I had a riveting conversation with him that lasted until well after the official closing time, and loved every minute.

I can also say Jeff is quite generous with his pricing. Given the history behind many of the pieces there (several of which I verified myself), I'm amazed he's still in business. And yet, he regularly brings in new pieces and makes somewhat long-distance local deliveries.

This place really is something else. If you're in the area, definitely check it out. You won't forget, and you won't...

Upon arriving at this antique spot you’ll be greeted by the nicest little gentleman, Boris, the dog. He is the best at his job and will make you feel welcome immediately at arrival. Once Boris has sufficiently said hello, you’ll go into a smaller space that truly is full of treasure. There is no air conditioning but there is treasure from the last 8-9 decades in this fun shop. Expect to find a variety of jewlry, paintings, furniture, decorations, and some odds and ends you may have never seen before. I was amazed at the book selection. I could have stayed all day par-oozing the art books, most of which you won’t find elsewhere because they’re out of print. The owner of the store does an incredible job hand picking the selection of records, CDs, and memorabilia. I was amazed at the quality of the vintage and antiques in this store. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area. Despite it being a small store, you can be there...

I kept coming across listings on FB Marketplace for items at this place. I went in person to look around and there are SO MANY "treasures"! It is smaller than what I thought, but it did not disappoint. If you are looking for art, take your time and explore. I originally was looking for a large oil painting that I could hang above my couch. I ended up getting an etching by an artist that has work hanging in the Smithsonian! The owner was friendly and told me what he knew about certain pieces and worked with me on the price. I will DEFINITELY be back! If you want something unique and not art off the shelf from Target or HomeGoods, must visit! There is also a large collection of records and antiques, but I was there...

A Pirate’s Place Studio and Gallery of the Bizarre in Pinellas Park is one of the most unique spots you’ll find in the area. The place is owned by Jeff, who clearly has a deep love for the strange, unusual, and oddly beautiful. The gallery is packed with pirate-themed pieces, oddities, and curious artwork that you won’t see anywhere else. Jeff is friendly and knows the story behind just about everything in the room. If you’re into weird, creepy, or just out-of-the-box art and collectibles, you’ll definitely want to check this place out. TLDR; Jeff is a cool guy with unique antiques and oddities!

Wandering through the many glinting strands of Indra’s net today, I happened upon a luminous jewel — a most enchanting antique shop, presided over by a gentleman whose soul seems stitched from quieter centuries. In conversation, we drifted through tales and time, and I found myself not merely perusing objects, but partaking in a kind of reverent archaeology of the heart. I left with vintage postcards and records — If ever your path bends near this shop, let it be a pilgrimage. Let yourself be surprised. For in that small sanctuary of relics and reveries, the past speaks — and it is kind. ☸️🤍
