Circle Players is a longstanding community theater in Piscataway. The group of local talents strives to present plays (and the occasional musical) that are off the mainstream. Over the years they have offered fine productions of THE LION IN WINTER, JANE EYRE, THE FANTASTICKS, YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU, THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH, LOST IN YONKERS, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, CHESS, lots more the names of which I can't recall but which live happily in memory. Most recently I saw THE NANCE , the story of a gay performer during the last days of burlesque. The company usually pay attention to details in costumes, props, scenery, sound and lighting. Ticket prices are reasonable for live theater. The stage is "in the round," offering a very intimate experience for the audience. They offer refreshments pre-show and during intermission.
