AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
"I recently ordered from this Chinese restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The delivery took over an hour, which was already a frustrating start. When the food finally arrived, it was far from what I had expected.
Firstly, I received the wrong order. Instead of the dish I had ordered with a description that included 'tender filet of chicken breast deep fried,' I got cold veggies in a flavorless white sauce, along with pieces of fried chicken that were tasteless and had bones in them. To my surprise, there was also omelette and bacon on top, which were not mentioned in the description. I also ordered fried wings and a wonton soup.
My order was supposed to come with white rice, but it was missing. I called the restaurant to inform them about the missing items as I was also missing my beverages. Unfortunately, the response I received was less than satisfactory. The person on the phone seemed dismissive, asking if I was sure about the missing sodas instead of taking responsibility and offering an apology.
In the end, I waited an additional 30 minutes for the sodas, but by that time, I had already eaten the wings and the soup, which were the only decent parts of the meal.
I spent close to $40 on my meal, and unfortunately, it was a frustrated and unsatisfying experience. Not only did I receive the wrong meal, but it left me feeling hungry and irritated. This kind of mix-up can really put a damper on the dining experience.
Overall, this experience left me disappointed, primarily due to the incorrect order, the lack of apology, and the overall quality of the food. I hope the restaurant can improve its service and attention to detail in...
Read moreI order the same dish - General Tso's Tofu - at every Chinese takeout I go to as a common denominator to compare them. And I only write when it's notable. And Happy China's is! They use a proper egg wash (or is it Corn Starch) to give it a crispy texture. And the sauce isn't overpowering. I'm a big fan of the place just based on this dish.
Side note, as I was sitting waiting for my food, I was reminded that the Chinese takeout is a beautiful thing. From its backlit signage unchanged since childhood to the neon lights (if you're lucky) reminiscent of the nineties, there's something comforting about Happy China. It's comfort food for sure, made by immigrants striving...
Read moreIt's a real bummer when what's supposed to be comfort food is just a disappointment.
I've ordered consistently from this spot for over a year and a half, always getting pretty much the same thing, and the food was definitively worse across the board tonight.
General Tso's was gummy with zero crispness to it and tasted not sweet at all, more like a garlic chicken?? Beef and broccoli was swimming in a thin broken sauce. String beans were okay, but just nowhere as tasty as what we had before.
I won't bother calling to let them know since previous reviews indicate that they don't care at all for constructive criticism or making good for their customers. I won't be...
