WOW! This "Aidan" character is wayyy off base with his "not so truthful" comments ... I just feel really compelled to share what really occurred tonight, once & for all ... I too was in this store this evening (after returning a second time), and not only observed, but witnessed your rude & arrogant demeanor with the pleasant cashier, attempting to help you, and explain how NJ charges tax on non-food items ... why you thought you were so ENTITLED is beyond me ... your review is so poorly written, and on top of everything else, it isn't even factual! You apparently thought it was acceptable to DEMAND no tax be charged on your purchase, rather than ask nicely if you could take the small change, that is in a bowl at the register...it just doesn't matter how much the item is ... $1 or $100 dollars ... there's still tax due! And, this isn't the store's policy, it's the State of New Jersey that imposes this tax ... if the business doesn't charge tax, they can & will be fined by the State of NJ ... do you really think for one minute you're that important? This just shows such ignorance on YOUR part!
There was also a conversation taking place between an owner & a customer that just so happened to be very good friends with that "other business" you are referring to. If you had your facts straight, you would have seen where the owner gave a business card to that customer to present to that other business & welcomed that owner to stop by some time ... But, apparently, with your selective hearing, you neglected to hear all the facts, or you deliberately didn't want to hear that outcome & thought nothing of slamming an extremely wonderful business ... and is highly regarded in Pitman ... one that goes way out of their way to help their customer base, day in & day out ... always provides exceptional customer service ... greets every customer that comes in ... wraps every piece of merchandise that comes up to that register area, AND provides an awesome bag to every customer that comes in ... we are never chased out of the store when it's closing time... rather, we are welcomed to take our time and finish our shopping ...
I strongly suggest you study up on the laws of New Jersey and how things really work when making purchases, before you open your mouth & look like a complete fool like you do now. Just sheer ignorance on your part! If anything, you owe this business & that most pleasant employee/cashier a huge apology ... the only one OUT OF LINE here, is YOU!! Thank you for all you do, Artisan's Oasis! Keep up...
Read moreDoesn't hold a candle to the extreme awesomeness that was Uptown Antiques, but there's some decent stuff here. One vendor has a produce cart outside occasionally, looking to expand, which is exactly what pitman needs: more ease of use for pitmanites.
Their comic selection is actually solid, some weirdo stuff like old adult comics and Married With Children, lots of old Marvel comics from the 80s and 90s. Now within 10 minutes, there's three shops to poke around in for comics, super rad and they're very cheap, too. Nice but extremely overpriced records as well.
I like the cheap candies, and there's cheap NJ coffee bags being sold too, but there needs to be much more done with the space. Replacing a town staple is no easy task, but for now, the new location is simply the old artisan's oasis, just...
Read moreSo I went in to buy a 1 dollar sticker from this store. I went to the register and the register worker named Dee already had a disgusted rude look on her face. I then gave her the dollar for the dollar sticker. She then says theres gonna be tax on that in a rude tone. I said oh okay i didnt know its just a 1 dollar sticker. Then she goes on rambling and talking down on us about how theres tax on everything besides food. She talked down to us i assume because she were a young couple and older people tend to talk down on younger people because they think were dumb. They also were talking down on a fellow business owner in the town that has been there for over 5 years now. Also telling customers not to go there. I strongly recommend never shopping here if you want your day ruined with...
