Best ice cream around...the hot dogs are amazing too. Great place to take the family.

[ Edit after visit with wife, child, and baby boy] Like I said, the food and ice cream is amazing, and they are always busy because of how good it is, but after waiting 20 minutes for our hot dogs I was then told very casually that my hot dog didn't go through and it would be another 10 minutes for mine without an apology. I had to sit very hungry watching my family eat without me. Just to clarify, the were busy we we came in, but they have two sets a staff, several workers for hot foods, and several workers out front for ice cream, and 90% of the customers were only getting ice cream. It really took the spark out of it when I then had to wait to speak with someone to tell them to make it To-go and to pay 33 bucks for 3 hotdogs, 2 soda, fries, and three scoops of ice cream without even an apology or an offer to discount the meal in the same interaction. I have two kids, a 4 yo girl and a 6 mo. boy. I know other parents can relate when I say that when you take the kids out to sit down and eat, there's usually not much time before one of them will have a meltdown or will need something that requires us to leave, which is why we got hotdogs this evening... I will probably be back again because the food is great, but not for awhile.. I really hope that this was just a fluke or a simple mistake made by a new staff member...but meanwhile I'll probably go somewhere that takes less than 20 minutes to...

I’ve never been more eager to post a 5-star review than I am right now for Alauras! This place is WONDERFUL! To put it into perspective for you, I’ve been there 4 times in the past 8 days. My husband and I enjoy the dinner for 2 meal deal: $20 gets you 2 gourmet hot dogs or grilled cheeses, an appetizer, and 2 cups of homemade ice cream (2 scoops each). My favorite hot dog is the popper dog (cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalepenos, special sauce) and my favorite grilled cheese is the granny apple with Gouda!! The fried pickles app is amazing! But the best thing this place has to offer... The homemade ice cream. The flavors are incredible, unique, and absolutely delicious. Inside it is decorated to look modern without losing the personal charm of an ice cream shop. There are seats and tables both inside and outside. Every time I’ve been there it has been pretty busy, but the line keeps moving as the employees accommodate customers quickly. Every employee has been so friendly! My husband and I will definitely...

This is another amazing place!! One of my favorites. There is no soft serve, only home made/ hand dipped ice cream. They have something called a Flight, which means you can get 4 different types of ice cream at the same time. Since it was my first time, it was wonderful being able to try different flavors. The staff was excellent, and they were so nice. I had someone taking care of me, and she told me her favorite flavor and took the best care of me. Their ice cream was worth every penny and then some. We got Blueberry French Toast Swirl, and it tastes like Sunday Morning Breakfast. Their Snickers, tasted like a snickers candy bar. Their Rootbeer Float tasted like they blended soda and made it creamy. All of their flavor tasted like they blended the name and creamed it. My absolute favorite (That I have tried) was the cake batter. It tasted like you were licking the bowl after making a cake. My family will be going back! I recommend it...
