Mateen, owner of Jafferson Computers, continues his extraordinarily strong customer support ways. A few days ago, due to my own folly, I deleted all content of two critical files important to furthering a software project I am developing. Upon discovering the damaged files, I immediately shut down my computer and next morning went to Jefferson computers. I did this because I had a subscription to “Backblaze”, the cloud-based backup service Jafferson Computers offers. When I subscribed to this service, I was told that if I ever needed to use it and failed to retrieve desired files myself, I could visit Jafferson Computers and be given necessary assistance (While I hold a PhD in computer interface design, I am a klutz in mastering computer interfaces as I find most GUIs abominable). Mateen immediately asked the appropriate questions about my problem, turned to his computer, opened appropriate files and had me identify the files damaged. He then explained that Backblaze performs backup hourly for two days, then by the day for the next 5 days, and finally by the week for a month. He patiently and skillfully devoted a quarter of an hour walking me through how to use Backblaze.
This last interaction with Jafferson Computers represents the latest of numerous contacts I have had with this company over the past 8-10 years. What has always struck me as relevant is that no matter the type of problem, they always—with skill and dedication to customer service—expeditiously handle any aspect of my computer needs. They have helped on several occasions with the more routine tasks of assembling a custom computer, installing and copying the system to a new hard drive, etc. However, the true gem of their service was helping recovery from a computer scammer. My wife inadvertently allowed herself to be victimized by hackers. As soon she realized that the hackers were requesting questionable information, we turned off her computer and immediately took it to Jafferson Computers. Jafferson Computers immediately did a complete evaluation of files and deleted files loaded by the scammers. This operation was 100% successful and there has been no subsequent trouble with this computer. Equally important was the extensive time Mateen devoted to provide us with the information necessary to minimize future issues from scammers. This is a service far beyond what I would expect to receive from liveware like Best Buy’s Geek Squad or the usually painful online software that supposedly helps you to overcome hackers.
It is hard to imagine the benefits you receive from a company when its owner is truly interested in providing in-depth, personal customer...
Read moreThey have quite a good service and are a little bit money hungry. They charge a lot for lower quality custom computers. They don't allow returns even if they misguided your purchase from them.
At these difficult times imposed by Covid-19, I spent over $600 (a biweekly income for some folks) on their custom computer, 500 Go HDD, old enough not to even have a UBS 3.0 port. Not worth the cost. I didn't pay attention to that detail because I was mostly interested in the ability to add an external graphic card. They took advantage of it anyway. They just don't care!
A week later, after the purchase, I started using their computer, and found out that the performance was not as expected. I emailed them the next Monday, 8th day, no response from them. 2 days later I called them and their response "IT'S BEEN OVER 7 DAYS, WE DON'T TAKE BACK"...
All I was asking of them is to exchange or upgrade the processor to at least an i5 and I would pay the additional cost. Provided that they recommended that computer knowing what I intended to do with it and the type of software I were to use and its requirements.
Nope! "WE WANT 50% RESTOCKINK FEE!!!" ($300). "WE D'ONT TAKE COMPUTERS BACK! AT ALL".
Just like a scam...
I will continue to post reports every where as well as on BBB and try to get my money back.
If you have enough money to waste, welcome to JAFFERSON COMPUTERS!!
I just found a computer store where I won't be robbed like at Jafferson computers. - Canton computers in livonia-
They sold me an i7 computer 2000 Go HDD 2 blue-ray drives a better graphic card, just to name the few, check the picture, for $479
$479... this would have cost $2000 at...
Read moreI took my pc in because I suspected it had a virus: would open numerous programs upon starting and run painfully sluggish. They told me a $35 deposit was necessary from all customers when having service done: which I gave when leaving the computer. I purchased a new computer the same day from a different dealer. When I went to get my machine from this store they plugged it in and it seemed to run fine. The charge was $130 plus they kept the $35 deposit as they said there was no verification that I left a deposit. Which I later found the receipt on a carbon duplicate receipt paper!. When I did plug the computer in it was NOT REPAIRED.I have the other computer which I use for full time online school when I am not busy working full time. So when I finally plugged the "repaired" computer in BANG its the same problem. What they did do is load malware anti malware, and of course their office contact information on the home screen and also some other malware all of which was completely useless which I could've and done for free before taking it in.
I'd say this place is borderline scammers and would not feel comfortable recommending them to anyone I even remotely liked. I am very busy and need two computers but thanks to these scammers I only have one. DONT GO THERE. Please note anyone that gives this hack joint a good review is either the owners family or college buddy. They're hacks, scammers and con artists. Shop around and you will understand what I am saying. Please note: I do not have the time to deal with inept people or scammers. However, if this company contacts me and makes this issue right I will change...
