First time here. Placed an order for pickup online. 2/22 around 9-10am there was a latin guy at the front counter. I ordered a omeletter and pancakes. I asked if i can some of the scoop butter. Instead, he gave me 2 packs of the packaged butter. Did not press it. upon going to the car I realized that there was only 1 butter and 1 syrup in the bag. while in the parking lot i buttered my pancakes, and realized I needed 3 more butters and 2 more syrups. I went back in to ask him for that, and he politely stated "I thought I just gave you some extra butter, wasnt there some in the bag?" I replied yes, but it wasnt enough. he then proceeded to inform me that a stack of 3 pancakes comes with one butter, and one syrup, and any additional is extra. after not moving he saw my attitude begin to show in my face and said "I will give them to you this time, but next time there will be an additional charge" I asked for extra butter and syrup? he said yes. I asked how much? he said you dont have to worry about it this time. I said so I can know for next time. He said "like... a dollar". I then returned to the car to finish buttering my lukewarm pancakes where the butter I put on it never even melted in the first place because the pancakes were just about room temperature. 1.)he was polite the whole time but it was that kind of polite that was like "im going to be nasty but say it politely so nobody can say I did anything wrong". 2.) i dont know if that 1 syrup 1 butter thing is a thing, but maybe you all should let your employees know what is the maximum extra a customer can request. I would hate for anyone else to be embarrassed like how I was. This interaction made me personally feel greedy and embarrased. I hate asking for special requests becuase I dont want to be "that guy", but he made me into "that guy" today. I've am now continuing the rest of my day feeling fat, greedy, and ungrateful, when all i really wanted was 3 hot buttery ihop pancakes. I cried. The colorado omlette was...
Read moreI hate leaving negative reviews for places, but there was just a bit too much going wrong at my visit today not to be noted. First let me preface by saying that I am fully aware of the fact that the service industry has taken a huge hit since the pandemic. I am thankful for having the opportunity to dine out and am appreciative of those that cooked and served my food.
The food was decent; what you would expect as diner food. Our server, Maya, was very pleasant, but I think she was technically the only server available and had half a dozen tables she was working at once, so kudos to her!
That being said, there is a huge concern that a child (around the age of 4-5) was in the kitchen area. It sounded like there was half a dozen adults in the kitchen area, too, and this child was being delighted by all.
There was a person who had been waiting to speak with a manager about their service when we were seated, and was informed by a server that the manager who was on duty when the person was served had left and the new manager would get to him when she could.
There was a girl actively seating customers, but was only able to get them drinks because she was "not officially clocked in yet and couldn't serve them food". She shouldn't have been working (even if she was helping out the only visible server).
And finally, the muzak system was on the fritz. A song would start, play for fifteen seconds, then complete silence for thirty seconds, then the same thing would happen again. After the same song did this for a dozen times, a new song would happen and do the same thing. It was loud enough and distracting to be an issue with having conversation with the person sitting across from me.
All together it was just too much for a visit. Like I said, the food was decent, the server was perfect, but we won't...
Read moreTypical IHOP restaurant. It was relatively clean, so I give it two stars instead of one. The service was well below par.
The server came by and got drink orders, she brought them out... a lemonade, 2 waters, coffee, and a minty hot chocolate (which the whip cream looked awful and dropped everywhere... why would you even bring that out?) Anyway, she laid down straws and they were wet and dirty! We left them to the side and she never noticed or even picked them up. So the coffee is there and I had to ask for cream and sugar. The cream and sugar come out and then I had to ask for cutlery (silverware) as there would be nothing to stir my coffee with if not.
Apparently my kid did not like the minty hot chocolate (which looked nothing like the picture, but must have tasted worse) and we moved it to the end of the table in the open spot (next to the dirty straws). She never once asked why it was there or if he didn’t like it. The manager did come by and grabbed a few plates and he left the hot chocolate sit there next to the dirty freaking straws. I was almost begging him to ask... but he didn’t.
The food came out. It was basic. Not awful, but not great. Over-buttered and a little cold, but it wasn’t the worst... At this point, if it was brought out warm, I think it would be been pretty decent, so not upset with the cooks.
After all that... you’d think maybe I was being a little harsh and the server was just busy. And you know, most of the time I’d give them the benefit of the doubt. However, we were sitting near the front and I saw on multiple occasions our server up at the front host podium just hanging out with the hostess. So no slack given... she just wasn’t working that hard.
Boils down to very poor service and below average food. We won’t...
