Response: I am pretty sure you are mistaking us for someone else as we did not visit temple since last 2 weeks so not sure who are referring to as “today”. You may have again insulted someone else for leaving shoes in a different area. And lastly we never ever took any food home. Even the leftovers. Only case when I cannot visit temple is when my husband tried to bring prasad home.
Gujarathi dominated temple!!!!!!!!! Usually an arrogant group of gujarati people ruling at temple. Not really a place for other community people. Always felt embarrassed going to this temple. Typical elderly Indian mentality gujarathi uncles act like they own this place and not welcoming. Based on my recent experience I am writing this review. We usually go to this temple since 5 years every now and then and have even donated 1000$ and made maha prasadam once. With all this said I sometimes due to situations going on life or mood swings feel like staying home but my husband still goes to temple on Saturday occasionally. Recently my husband was getting me prasad from temple which I feel like blessing that god has sent with my husband and lifts my spirit but an elderly group of old gujarathi uncles stopped him saying he cannot take food to home and also my husband is wasting an extra plate to cover food. My husband already got food in plates by the time they made these comments so he replied them that he already got food and it would waste food if he leaves it. But they responded that he can leave food plates there and it is fine for them but will not allow him to take food home. In India we even don’t reject food for enemies. He felt really bad and left both his and the food he got for me, both plates there and came home. Who in what world would ask to waste food. Such a shame having such people visiting temple. The very same gujarathi families fill boxes and take food home. What is the whole point in running a temple like this? I hope karma hits them really hard for behaving this way and they learn a lesson.. I am sure there are many people ready to donate extra 100$ every month if needed for your cutlery and to go boxes if you are so much worried about plates being wasted. Ps. This place is not at all welcoming for South Indian community and we have never visited temple after the experience...
Read moreThis is response to Anusara. Why do you have to bring up gujarati vs south india. I know some very fine south indian people at temple. Sorry to hear that you were mis treated. Go look at donors list on the wall of temple. I know a gujarati person donating $100,000 plus twice. Let's not go there. Everybody should be treated respectfully. They do donation or not. Look around. Do see any southindian doing volunteer service at temple? Don't think so. People who volunteer get mad. No body should misbehave. Most the south indian student come last minute on scooter. Eat and leve. I get upset with same same southindian coming late. That irritate the heck out of me. I will say sorry to you. For the misbehaving one of the gujarati uncle. Remember we are volunteer. We don't get paid. We want to serve 300+ people...
Read moreTemple is nice and clean but the people (some of the temple management and priest) serving it don’t have the right intent unfortunately. From a personal experience, I had requested one of the priests for some prasadam after doing a brief puja for our daughter’s annaprasna but they refused saying we needed to sign up for an elaborate offering with donation which we didn’t want because all we wanted was an unceremonious brief offering and some prasadam to go to offer our toddler. Guess what, we would have left you a good donation if you made us feel welcome and were not looking for some big bucks. Sorry but you must know that shraddha and bhakti comes not with big donations but with good intentions and...
