This is a pretty great park for people of all ages. Lots of great shady space under trees at picnic tables immediately adjacent to the playground equipment. Parents can monitor children from the shade with full visibility of the playground. The playground equipment for the kids is fun and interesting, especially the rockin' school bus.
Enjoy walks on nice wide pathways around the pond. There are lots of ducks, which our boys loved.
If you need some refreshments, just down the road at Parker and Alma is Sugar Mountain, a great little snow cone shop.
We even got the opportunity to help a turtle that had turned upside down after falling over the little dam just passed the bridge over the pond. Poor little guy just needed a little nudge over.
This was our first time at the park and I think the playground had just been mulched, which left a lot of dust on all of the playground equipment so the boys were 10x dirtier than they would be otherwise but nothing a little bath can't fix.
I can safely recommend this park for anyone looking for a little fun and relaxation out under the big blue...
Read moreI find this to be a really well planned park. It has a big slow-ish waterway with ducks and turtles, long walking paths with bridges, a good play area for big kids, a good play area for little kids, shaded picnic tables, bike rack, benches, full around sidewalk visibility for adults who don't want to wade through the bark. Now, why four stars? Apart from the picnic tables set back from the play area on one small section of the grounds, there is very poor shade for this play area. Benches for parents have no shade. The playground only has shade if kids go underneath the climbing areas and play in the bark. Also, while it has one of Plano's fantastic park water fountains, complete with misting capability, that water fountain is really far away from the unshaded playground. Far enough and obscured enough by hilly ground and a few small trees that trying to keep an eye on one kid going for a drink makes it nearly impossible to also keep an eye on anybody else still on...
Read moreIf I knew how bad the area was I wouldn't have came to visit. I gave it 1 star because the lake itself is nice to walk around. When I arrived the first thing I could hear was loud cursing, I took my kids to the playground and there was six teenagers between ages 15-16yrs old chilling at top of the playground like they own the place.. my kids couldn't even play on it. I had to climb up the playground and ask them to stop yelling curse words and to stop talking about sex around my small kids. So I left to walk around the nice lake, coming back to the playground I was glad they were gone but 4 minutes later another gang of 7 guys show up to sit in the playground area to smoke!? This park is not...
