Austin Avenue Grill & Sports Bar — Restaurant in Plano

2nd time visiting, 1st time visiting on a sports Sunday after 20 minutes of the game coming on a customer fell backwards and hit his head on the concrete ground out on the patio, myself and 3 other customers helped the customer, keeping him conscious and alert until the ambulance arrived. The owner and 2 waitresses stood on the side and watched. I decided to go back and give this place a 2nd try, I thought maybe it was just a bad Sunday.. 2nd visit, arrived 20 minutes before the game, I asked 3 tables that had single empty seats could I sit and they all replied someone’s coming so I stood at the bar, a nice man grabbed me a stool from the bar and sat it at the bar, I was happy I just wanted to watch the game. Then a manager (lady) comes over to me and says they said you need a seat(I’m already sitting) I said “a nice guy got me a seat, thanks) she then left and came back with another guy saying he’s a president of the sports club you can sit with him I said no thanks I’m fine here, she tells him “oh well I can’t make her happy” I’m confused because I already had a seat. I ordered a margarita and a turkey club sandwich, received my drink within minutes which was good and cold after 20 minutes my food is handed to me, I gave it back to the bartender, it wasn’t the sandwich I ordered and the plate was also dirty with wing sauce and other food stains on it. I told her this isn’t what I ordered and the plate is dirty. I said that’s okay, I’ll just have this drink. Another server says I’ll make it for you myself, I’m so sorry I said okay, she left and came back and said the manager said I couldn’t because of a seat issue with you earlier. I couldn’t believe it, I got up and went and spoke to the owner/president whom was watching the game also. I started to tell him about my experience and the dirty plate that my food was served to me on but the manager (lady) came and whispered in his ear and then that’s when this man started yelling and balling up his fist and said” I have over 500 people in here, do you want me to go to the back and ask for a special order only for you!” I said no I only asked for a clean plate with my food on it. He then he proceeded to tell me to go to other places where there is no customers like Buffalo Wild Wings or twin peaks but he has to many people to worry about one. I paid for the margarita and left. I will NEVER go back and no I do Not recommend this place to anyone. The manager should be ashamed which I’m sure she’s not, none of these people never even apologized for serving me food on a dirty dish. The President/Owner was so RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and frankly did not care at all of the experience I was having in his establishment. He actually added to it. This place is not only a liability but it’s also unsanitary. You can be open 15 or 20 years and have the same reserved customers come but to treat and speak disrespectful and aggressive towards a customer after your staff served them food on dirty dishes tells me you should undergo some classes and courses or shut down…. Treat new customers just as good as you treat...

Carolyn's Review.............. I'm thoroughly disappointed in this establishments service. I've waited to see if their service was going to improve. But to my surprise, they did not. Instead it was worse! So, a few weeks ago I ordered from here at lunch time. I had a friend go pick it up for me. Because I was at storage working. I had ordered a Dr. Pepper to go. Because I had forgot to bring my water bottles with me. However, when my friend returned with my food, no drink! And I paid for my drink! So I was too irritated to really mess with it. So I decided to let that one go. However, the following weekend I ordered dinner from there and a Dr. Pepper to go again. I stayed in the car this time and low and behold no drink, AGAIN! YES, I PAID FOR IT AGAIN! I was too angry to go in and make a scene. So I called and i spoke to whomever answered the phone. Then, they transferred me to someone at the bar. I told them what happened and they said they would take care of it next time I came in. So the next time, was last night. I explained to the person who took my order over phone, what happened. She said that she wrote it on ticket. And to let bartender know same thing when I picked it up. So I did. And there was a $2.00 CHARGE FOR MY DRINK! I was not pleased to say the very least. After I explained the situation. The female bartender reluctantly subtracted my drink charge and with hesitation, gave me my order and drink. AND, with such a horrible attitude. As if I had done something wrong! What I failed to mention to her, was how horrible the food was last time I ordered from there. Oh and did I mention, last night my order was absolutely terrible as well. I ordered the samon with angle hair pasta. With extra sauce! NOT EXTRA PASTA! Which is what they gave me. What bothered me more was the fact that my food looked like it was just tossed into my "to-go" container. As well as, possibly being dropped onto the floor!!! Who knows. Maybe they played catch with my container before I arrived to pick it up. However, to add pain to injury THEY CHARGED ME AN EXTRA $2.00 FOR THE EXTRA PASTA! I didn't even see that part until I left and was almost in the driveway. So, needless to say. My experience with this establishment, the past few times, has not been pleasant. I did hope that it would change. But it didn't. That is precisely the reason I have written this detailed review for all to see. I just hope that your experience with them was and will be better than my recent visits. Signing off! Happy...

Had the worst experience of my life. I went to visit my daughter in Texas. Her and her fiancee decided to take me out to have some drinks. First we had to go get a waiter to take our order. When he came he was very rude. I had a Philly cheese steak and a couple of long Island iced teas. The food was decent and decently priced. The drinks were good and fairly priced. We decided to do karaoke. We left our purses and cell phones on the table. After singing we returned to the table to find that it had been cleaned off and our valuables no longer there. We went to the bar to ask if they knew who had cleaned the table and where our things were. Within minutes the security ran up to my daughters boyfriend who wasn't even saying anything and grabbed him around his neck and started dragging him out of the club. That's when all hell broke lose.my daughter followed trying to get the security to release her boyfriend. By the time we got out the door the police were there. Security quickly went inside and disappeared. They left us to speak with the 5 cars of police that came. The Plano police were the best. Outstanding officers everyone. They listened to us and told us that there is always something shady happening there. Finally the manager comes out. The police talked to him and he went back in. 2 minutes later he comes out with my daughters purse. Then goes back in and comes out with my purse and cell phone. Then he proceeds to give my daughter and her boyfriend a notice banning them from ever coming back. So just to reiterate they stole our purses, put my daughters boyfriend in a headlock and drugg him out the club just because we asked about our stuff and then banned them from returning. There is something shady for sure going on at this club. The security never came back out and never once spoke to the police giving them an incident report about why they felt the need to get physical with any of us. Other people have since told me that they have been drugged there and have had money and cards stolen from them. Stay away. It's a very seductive vibe that will make you feel very good and relaxed but I promise that's when they will get you....
