Read moreBack again and I have to eat my own words. I have updated it to 4 star, not because the food is a “full” 4 star, but because they are keep improving. That is something important.
Keep going! Back again on Feb. 12.
A totally different story comparing to the opening day. Only 2 tables when I arrived around 7 PM. Saw some experienced waiters ( a familiar face from fatni), super fast serving (guess there is barely no one in the line).
Food is just as I expected, no surprise. It is a little bit over cooked, but just as the way I liked.
3 Stars now. And I think it stays.
OK I'm back to update my review after food severed.
Totally understand the chaos on the opening day, So my review is only about the food.
The lamp is okay. Kidney is pretty authentic, as well as beef. Tofu need more seasonings and sauce. Personally I don't recommend the rest because too much salt. And if you don't like spicy and hot, please be specific otherwise you may be burned lol.
Overall the food is fine. Obviously I haven't tried everything out because of the service, but I think I have found my favourite food.
So, I have updated my review but not stars. I will be back for sure, and see if it improves.
2 stars as for now, because I've been sitting here over 2 hours without even a glass of water. Apparently the owner has less experience running such a business, and underestimate the power of marketing.
I will update my review later with my food served, that being said,...
Read moreWe came here for the first time for a late, weeknight date. As night owls that have to work weekends, this place was a perfect choice, we were not disappointed. Yen got us set up by showing us to our table and thoroughly explaining how everything worked. He even offered forks which as someone who has just learned how to use chopsticks, this was very sweet because it’s usually embarrassing having to track a waiter down to ask for them. We started with the steamed chicken dumplings, an apple martini, and a lychee martini. Both drinks were great, but the lychee martini was phenomenal so we stuck with that. Haw did an excellent job on drinks! As for food, we tried a lot since it was our first time. We started with the steamed chicken dumplings, then moved on to trying different skewers. We tried the chicken, pork, lamb, beef, black pepper beef, cabbage, and shrimp skewers. The pork, beef (both types), and cabbage were our favorite skewers. I was shocked to love the pork skewers so much because I’m not usually a fan of pork, which shows just how great the food is! We also tried the garlic scallops which were incredible. My only note is that the shrimp skewers were whole, head attached, and they weren’t deveined which isn’t our thing so we didn’t end up actually eating them. My only suggestion is maybe changing the name to “(whole) head attached shrimp skewers” so people like myself that are squeamish about it don’t accidentally order it. But overall, the food was excellent, drinks were phenomenal, service and atmosphere were great. Even though the restaurant was out of our way, we will definitely be returning....
