We came here in high hopes, but left with disappointment. We came in a party of 4 (this is important info) and was then directed to open the menu via QR code. One of my friends was having trouble opening the menu so he asked for a paper menu but the server was reluctant to give him one because it wasn’t fully updated (also important info). We ended up ordered BBQ plates, the prices seemed a bit high for a BBQ establishment, but that’s just a side comment. The food took a long time to come, it wasn’t very busy, only 2 parties including us, probably took 30 min and we were told BBQ items would come really soon because it’s already ready. When our food finally came, some of the brisket was cold. The macaroni tasted like water, the brisket itself wasn’t very flavorful but the BBQ sauce was the redeeming quality. The ribs were tiny (it looked like it came from a newborn calf), they tasted decent, but not worth the price. We had to ask for our refills, we didn’t really receive any service other than the food coming to us, also no napkins were provided. We concluded that this place wasn’t for us but it didn’t end there. When it came time to get our checks we wanted it be split in 4 ways. They needed help knowing who had what, which didn’t make sense to me because it was all written down from when our order was taken. We got refills on our drinks, and they tried charging us $1 for the refills, which they tried justifying by saying it’s on the paper menu (please look back to the beginning of the review), remember the paper menu is invalid so I’m confused. It did not mention anything on the online menu, so it ended up being not on the check. But what was on there was a 18% service charge. When I asked about this it was because we were over a PARTY OF TWO (again please look back to the beginning of the review). I have never heard of a place to charge any type of fee for 2+ party, 6+, 8+, 10+ parties, yes, but not over 2. The server then asked me if I would ask this question at an “American” restaurant like Applebees. Ma’am, I recommend you go read over Applebee’s policy, because they don’t charge a 18% SERVICE FEE FOR A PARTY ABOVE 2.
