There's a stage in downtown Plano that has Christmas lights on it and is up all year round. There are several tables and chairs for people to stop and rest at. My buddy went to play his guitar on the stage and I brought backgammon and played it with some friends and strangers. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops and boutique stores around here and the train line stops right in downtown so you don't have to worry about driving or parking. If you do drive there is a good amount of parking to be found just make sure you don't park in a space reserved for the handicapped or the cops and look out for spots that have time restraints. Good restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and other shops, with more than one public parking lot so plenty of space to park within a max of a block or two to walk if street parking for a particular place full. My favorites are: 32 Degrees (rooftop bar above urban crust pizza), 1418 Coffeehouse & Better than Sex (dessert shop). There’s also a plaza area and frequent events there. The whole area is cute and feels well kept and safe to walk around. My favorite time to go is during holiday season when everything is decorated...

There is a Farmers Market that l loved! It has many exciting fruits, artisan bread, homemade jams, etc
Do not miss the experience! We came from the East Coast and were excited about this...
