I love this quaint spot right as you step off the dart train station in downtown Plano. I like to call it the Kodak moment park , as it's typically well taken care of , has many areas that are fantastic to take photos at and many do. I attend church here in Sundays @ 1:30 . Pastor Ron has been hosting a service here for the homeless for over 13 years. Provided a meal for the soul and body for those in need. I started attending here because of covid and then became homeless myself . I have continued to attend as I have gotten to know many of the people that come here and have interacted with many at several other places and functions. I've volunteered with quite a few charities and meet many at those places either getting help myself or helping those to in need to give back to the community. It's been incredible to be able to see both sides and walk along with so many in the good and bad times . There are many functions throughout the year here and I've enjoyed the variety of events and different people I've meet. I've lived in the area for over 3 years and I have a love for this place and can be found here at various random times throughout any day of the week. I've painted on my bike here, worked on other art projects, joined protests to stand up for the rights of our children , advocated for many causes that have been a concern for many , play on the equipment, have a picnic and visit with friends , feed the fish and enjoy the peace this...
Read moreAlways fun, nice view; day and night. Toddler playground and the children's playground are safe, intuitive and easy to use quality equipment. Large and stable enough for parents to be with their lil ones on the bridges and slides.
The park has a beautiful gazebo and small lake with fountains. Plenty of areas to go with your lil one/s after a day of play to teach them the art of relaxation and taking in a nice view after a fun day. This is a design element that may or may not of been intended for the specific needs of a child to decompress a bit before the announcement of leaving. I've been to my share of events where just the thought of leaving the park, recreational activity or library will trigger a stress response followed by very loud crying in some children. With so many walking to stationary adventures to behad around the park such as crossing the water bridge, visiting the trolley or taking in some sun rays around the nearby flowers and park benches; the next level generally is taking in these sights. Gradually, a feeling of joy sweeps in and leaves us feeling content, peaceful and happy for about now your child's mind can literally rescan the park's horizon and remember their own fulfilled playday from swings to slides while dogs on leashes strolled by.
Definitely this park is put in one of our favorite places to visit in my top 5 parks...
Read moreBeautiful, clean, conveniently located little park. Better bring your bug spray though as the Mosquitos and other bugs are alive and thriving well here due to the amount of almost stagnant water 🙄. Love how the children's play area is set back slightly away from the main park. Plenty of seating at one of the many benches, picnic tables or even under the gazebo. Restrooms aren't horrible but aren't the cleanest either and only open during certain hours of the day. Trash cans and plastic bags provided to clean up after yourself and/or your pets. You can even visit the railway museum located at the park as well. One very annoying feature are the amount of nosy people that drive by really slow, stop in the middle of the road or park just to stare at/watch others. I used to frequent the park almost daily in the evening to relax, stream some TV or listen to music but now only find myself there a couple times a week for...
