I came by here to sample this restaurant with my family members. We located the restaurant and spotted a street side parking spot just after the noon hours. We walked a few feet to the front door and entered the doorway. I noticed that there was no powered door, but there was a handicap sign on the door. I was able to enter with the help of my family. I would also note that there is a second floor dining room, but it is upstairs as well. We walked into the front where we could stand and order the food we wanted to eat. The food items are served on butchers paper, so I would suggest that you don't order more than you'll eat in one sitting. We had to get an extra piece of the paper for the food we had remaining. We did order the baked beans and one member of our family does not eat beef, so there was some disappointment that two beans were served with beef mixed in with the beans. There were jars of condiments set out on the side with small serving cups that were insufficient for anything more than scooping barbecue sauce into the little cups. We did get the macroni and cheese which was good. We got fountain drinks with our meals...sweet tea of course. We got the brisket, which seem to have a bit of fat untrimmed on the meat. The brisket was tender and tasty, but I noticed that there was no smoke ring on the meat. We ordered the pork ribs, the jalapeno sausage, and the chicken. The meats selections were very good. This first visit was not a bad one and I would return to...
Read moreThis has the most amazing Texas BBQ in the Plano, if not entire Dallas area. Traditionally served on brown paper with a fixin's bar that includes pickled Jalapeños, bread & butter pickles, spicy pickles, pickled red onions & their AMAZING spicy bbq sauce. There's plenty of paper towels & seating space. The sides also include amazing Mac and cheese, baked beans, Devil's eggs w/brisket, potato salad w/brisket, Lockhart coleslaw with their spicy bbq sauce & their Bleu cheese coleslaw. They also have plenty of whitebread for soaking up the sauce, making sandwiches & they use the stale bread to make a number of INCREDIBLE bread puddings. During girl scout cookie season the bread puddings are samoas, mint chocolate, trefoils, and the ubiquitous bourbon, cinnamon raisin!! Wednesdays are the beef rib night which are as long as my forearm & full of tender rib meat. Covered in a perfect bark, this bbq joint sells out incredibly fast. Other favorites are Kreuz market sausages, the most tender & juicy smoked turkey breast, pork ribs, brisket & shoulder clod. During lent they have a selection of freshly smoked fish! The decor is casual, they've got an enticing cocktail selection & plenty of local breweries on tap, bottle & can. I wish I could give this place an extra star for service. The staff is unbelievably friendly...
Read moreThis is a really nice quaint place downtown Plano, TX. The place has plenty of seating area as they have an upstairs with tables and booths. You go to the back of the restaurant to the pit master to put your order in. They have specials up on the board above where you order as well as their menu on the wall. One special on there was Barracho which is beef marinated in beer. Things get crossed out when they run out so it’s pretty simple ordering. We ordered the beef brisket with the request of more bark and the bleu cheese slaw. Meat was so tender and good and the smokiness and the rub flavor were not chintzed on here! All the flavors were very well married in the meat. The slaw was really nice too as you’re eating meat you need something to cleanse the palate and this slaw is very good. A little bleu cheese and faint taste of jalepeno is perfect. I like the jars of condiments offered as well; sliced pickle chips, jalapeños, purple pickled onions and spicy pickle chips too! Those are delicious on a sandwhich the next day. Their bbq sauce was just as good too. You don’t really need it on the meat but it’s good not sweet or vinegary just a little tang which is perfect. They were voted one of the top bbq places in Dallas and rightfully so. Peach cobbler was a delicious way to end this...
