Belle La Vie "The Nail Place" — Attraction in Pleasanton

Pros: Availability (took me in as a walk-in) + the staff’s overall friendly demeanor

Cleanliness/hygiene was very poor. Unfortunately I did not notice this until the pedicure had started. The towel on my foot stool had what looked like red nail polish stains, which gave me much pause as I did not walk in with red nail polish to remove nor did I choose red for my pedicure. They’re either not cleansing their towels properly or god forbid they used an old towel for my service.

To add on, I didn’t see them wipe down the stools/chairs after each client, which was worrisome because that towel on the foot stool is used to wipe off dead skin/cuticle! The manicurists then flip the towel to the “clean” side to begin polishing your toes, which means that side with the grime 100% makes direct contact with the foot stool!!! And so the stool needs to be cleansed/sanitized between each client that sits down!!!

The swatches you have to choose from are either incredibly old or just not accurate. The color I chose looked completely different from the swatch, and I had to verify that it was in fact the same, so beware when choosing- maybe ask to see the polish bottle before they start application!

At the end of the day, I was really unhappy with how much I questioned the cleanliness of this salon. I didn’t like the color I ended up with, and to be honest, less than 24 hours later I can see two nails with slight chips/bubbles, and one nail where the polish has completely rippled. I’ll basically have to repaint all of my nails which is very frustrating and something I have not experienced before.

Edited to respond: Thank you for the acknowledgment. Maybe I came on a bad day, but I stand by my assessment that hygiene/cleanliness was not up to par and I do not feel comfortable going back or recommending this place to anyone. A basic expectation for a nail salon should be clean towels...

Each time I have visited the nail salon, I am ALWAYS greeted with care. I immensely appreciate everyone I’ve met over my four years of living in the Bay Area.

The beautiful work from nails, toes, and eyebrow waxing has always left me highly satisfied! I travel often and after getting my nails done in other places, I always wish to come back home and head over to Belle La Vie to fix my nails because there is no shop quite like this one!

I appreciate all the services I’ve received as well as the attention to detail on my services. I have never left the nail salon feeling less than amazing about my choices nor the services rendered. The ability to have a cocktail, tea, soda, and/or water is always a great addition to my visit. It does go along way that the shop offers it as many do not.

Everyone in the nail salon cares about us as customers and people. You cannot pay for this, this is genuine and real.

They also happen to offer some of the best prices in town and the color options are endless! Not to mention they always let you know when they have a new color or a new option to make your nails strong and beautiful!

P.S I did a ton of neutral tons due to work but they were always available...

they did a great job at shaping my nails, and doing the groundwork, but at the very last moment they told me I couldn’t do the detail I presented. I did ask when I first walked in if it would be acceptable and OK and they agreed and said it was fine and at the last moment they told me they could not do it and wanted me to switch designs, and then when they didn’t have the ability to do the alternative, they try to push upon alternative that was not my liking and I was trying to be polite about the situation so I just said it was fine as the base color and paid them and tipped them and now I’m off, trying to find somebody to finish my nails.

I feel like my time was not respected as a client and if there was a issue issue, I had a very easy alternative from the beginning that was just one Solid color as a back up plan. These nails were for a special occasion and I rarely get to treat myself to something nice. This is why it was so disappointing
