SOZO Sushi — Restaurant in Pleasanton

Very disappointed in the service tonight!! I've been a patron of this establishment for over 10 years and came to have dinner with my family & old friends after being out of the area for more than a few years. The food is still great but felt like I was expected to pay and leave 5 minutes after finishing meal, the servers are NOT friendly and very pushy in making you uncomfortable to the point that they almost make you leave. I'd completely understand if the restaurant was busy but it was surprisingly dead for a Friday night. (As I recall from years past, the line would be out the door. Our first experience was great, especially the sushi.

We decided to come back a second time and was really disappointed in the service. First off was asked to order our sushi all at once, unlike before we would order 2-3 and then order more afterwards. Second, a water pitcher was left at our table so we can pour our own water? Ridiculous that our table was the only table that they left a pitcher of water on. We were one of the smaller parties inside restaurant.

This place is alright. The quality is average and portions are good. Their slices of sashimi is ok, not as generous as other places. The cleanliness is so so. We'd see flies flying around sometimes. Overall, it's a decent place to take the kids and family. We go here mainly bc of the convenient location and easy parking. (We used to go to Sendo on Hopyard all the time; however, the former owner retired and their quality's gone down since the management change.)
