My cousin and I had a very bad experience and encounter with the staff there on Friday May 10th.We were there for a few hours looking, and talking about grain-free food and they gave us the wrong information and lied that it’s ok and safe to give it to our dog just so we would buy it and give them business but then I called a few vets who told me to stay far away and don’t ever give your pets grain-free food because it causes heart disease in dogs. So we left the store and we walked half a block away and 2 employees were chasing after us waving their arms in the street yelling: hey hey wait stop come back here!! My cousin is deaf but I heard them and they had very loud, rude voices. They falsely accused us of theft and asked if we left the store without paying but we never bought anything there because they had the wrong kind of food and it was very expensive and we showed them our bag was empty. They inspected our bag and found nothing and we explained we are not thieves and would never steal. They said ok then went back to the store then we went back to report them to the owner and the manager who weren’t there. They promised the owner would call us back on Monday afternoon but it’s now Tues and we’re still waiting for a call back. I called them a few times on Monday the first time a lady answered then the 2nd time and 3rd time a man answered who I can hear in the background was being coached and controlled what to say by the lady who told him to say: they’ll get back to you when they’re available. He repeated like a parrot the exact same thing several times then rudely hung up on me everytime. The staff is very clueless and not very knowledgeable about pet food do not listen or take their advice they’re just in the business of selling food whether its healthy or not. My Mom, myself and 2 other members of my family used to spend a lot of money in this store every month because we have 7 dogs and 2 cats between the four of us. One by one this place has lost every single one of us as customers. Today was my last straw. In the 3+ years I have gone there I have returned food twice. My dog was refusing to eat the pet food I purchased from there so I attempted to exchange an unopened bag of food that does not expire until 2017 for a different flavor and they refused to return the food because my mother and I combined our orders when we checked out and just gave her name.
This is not the first time this stores poor business ethics has gotten under my skin. They actually offer a lot of discounts and programs for you to enroll in like if you purchase 10 bags of food you get one free but they hold onto your card and no matter what they tell you about marking your purchase off if you do not physically see them do it then it does not happen. However, his body is long and he was able to reach the incision but the cone was rubbing his skin and making him bleed. So Friday and Saturday were spent trying everything to keep him from licking his incision and so we called Specialty Pet Supplies at 5:55PM and spoke to a very nice lady and we explained the situation and she suggested getting him The Wonder Suit which is basically a onesie to keep the area covered. What a difference this suit made! He finally calmed down and was able to rest after I put this suit on him. Did I mention what time I called? 5 minutes before closing. She offered to take payment over the phone and put our purchase in a designated area for us to come and pick it up. She was so helpful.
