I dined at this restaurant a couple of days ago, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Iām sharing this review to help others make an informed decision.
Cheap Dining Experience The menu prices suggest a standard dining experience, but what I encountered was far from it. Food was served on paper plates, which quickly became soggy from moisture in the food. Even the water was served in a tiny bottle, barely enough for a sip. To make matters worse, the staff didnāt bother to check if we needed more water, even though we finished it before our food arrived.
Unappealing Ambience The overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The floors were sticky and dirty, and the tables werenāt properly cleaned either. The dim lighting created a dull and uninviting atmosphere, adding to the unpleasant experience.
Mediocre Food We ordered Goat Biryani, Kothu Parotta, and Special Veg Biryani. Hereās my take on each:
Goat Biryani: This was the only decent dish; the meat was tender and well-cooked. Kothu Parotta: Extremely disappointing and far from authentic. If the chefs lack the expertise to prepare this dish, it shouldnāt be on the menu. Special Veg Biryani: Misleadingly named, as it was more like fried rice than a true biryani.
Suspicious Reviews Another concern is the restaurantās Google reviews. Despite being only a few months old at the time of this review, theyāve accumulated over 500 reviews with a 4.7 rating. This seems highly questionable, especially when compared to established Indian restaurants in the area that have far fewer reviews despite years of operation.
Final Verdict I wonāt be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. The combination of mediocre food, a poor dining experience, and high prices makes it hard to...

My recent trip to Michigan wouldn't have been complete without two visits to Chennai Express! Their South Indian flavors were simply too good to resist.
Day 1: A Warm Welcome
The fluffy idlis, dipped in rich sambar and paired with crispy wada, were an ideal introduction. Each bite was comforting and bursting with flavor.
The main course was a symphony of textures and tastes. The mutton kothu paratha, with tender meat expertly stir-fried alongside flaky paratha, was a clear standout. The goat chukka didn't disappoint eitherš
Day 2: A Spicy & Satisfying Return
On my second visit, the tangy rasam provided a refreshing start, perfectly balancing spice and sourness to wake up my taste buds.I just love their rasam.
The star of this round was the biryani ā the kongunnattu mutton biryani was divine. Fragrant rice, cooked to perfection, was generously layered with tender mutton and a captivating blend of spices. Each bite was a unique and delightful experience. Just a call out - kongunnattu mutton biryani is a weekend special menu .
To conclude this culinary adventure in style, we indulged in the fiery red paalipalayam chicken. Cooked with a unique blend of spices, it delivered a satisfying kick of heat, leaving a lingering warmth and a strong desire to come back for more.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreTastes Like A Home Cooked Meal! Sorry I have no pictures, l ate it too fast, it was so good! This was my first time. They took the time to open the menu for me and point out and recommend which dishes were the best, i really appreciate that.
Goat Tikka Masala vs Chicken Tikka
The (mild) Tikka Masala was the better of the two. The best part of this tasty dish were the perfectly balanced sweet/savory flavors., the rice was cooked well and they give you pita bread on the side. Id like to add that the goat was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and extremely tender and juicy! The Chicken Tikka is very filling and if you like spicy it will be your go to, it included sliced onions and peppers which was a very nice touch. I was not expecting the thyme either. This place doesn't look like much but they really cook very well in the kitchen. I will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in town. Thank you for the meal. All my Africans and Caribbean people need to come tap in, make sure you bring your wallet $$$ it's not cheap. The portions are a little small but what they lack in size they definitely make up for in taste!
Cons: You don't get a drink with the meal which is why I am hesitant to give 5 stars and also I think if they used a clam foam container with separated areas so that you are able to mix your food (rice sauce and meat) together easier would also be great. You have to take it home and put it all on a plate, but it's good...
