Columbia Factory Store — Attraction in Pocono Township

As a person of color, I feel I am treated with very biased service by staff at this store today. Every store in this outlet I visited today has been friendly and welcoming, but Columbia factory here is exception. The staff greeted every customers walking in but not me. Three of them simply chatted as if I was of no existence since I stepped in, but immediately said hi to the customers walking in later.

I grabbed one fleece jacket and planned to buy, but just left it on shelf temporarily to try on another jacket in front of a mirror. Just after few seconds, the staff took it right away even without asking me! This is very rude and unprofessional. As a loyal Columbia customer who has been purchasing their products for long time, I am truly disappointed about this store and will not come back...

I received two gift cards here as a shopping reward, both in the amount of $20. I came back one week later to use the cards and they were invalid. I called customer service and they told me that the cards had already been used. Well that is impossible. The clerk who checked me out committed fraud and stole the $40 credit because she thought I wasn’t a local.

While I called customer service inside the store to see why the cards didn’t work, the store manager kept on following me around the store, trying to eavesdrop into my conversation with Columbia customer service.
