Running a kids party in a bar. Enough said.
Apparently the owner is thin skinned and can't take the barest of criticism either. Was gonna hold back but here goes instead, I'll elaborate further.
The beer was flavorless and not true to style. They have a "special cocktail" that tastes like cherry cough syrup. The food was overpriced and middling at best. Wait staff was polite but obviously overworked. I feel bad that they have to work for whoever owns the place, they obviously don't care about atmosphere or staff.
The decor is a disaster mishmash, it looks like it was put together by what a 15 year old thinks a sports bar would look like.
I personally watched three different couples walk out after being surrounded by screaming children. I'm guessing this disaster of a place won't last long, they're obviously desperate for money to be hosting children's parties. Honestly good, make way for a better place.
There's some food trucks in the area. Go there instead. Better value and food. Let this disgrace die.
Owner later lied on his reply to state there was a rainy day the day we went over. The day was clear and beautiful, but if it makes him feel better to lie, that makes sense for how he runs...
Read moreMy fiancé and I are getting married in the Tannersville area and Barley Creek was recommended to us as a rehearsal dinner location. I am incredibly disappointed by how they advertised their space to us vs what the space actually is, so I'm writing this review to help anyone considering hosting a rehearsal dinner here understand what you are actually getting. The space was advertised to us as "semi-private", however, you are actually just seated at tables in the back of the restaurant with no privacy at all. It is one large dining area and you are completely exposed to all guests/ staff at all times. There is one restroom so every individual in the building will be walking through your seating area to access the restroom. When asked where the food would be placed for guests, we were informed staff would strategically place food "on the wall opposite the restroom so guests not in our party would not pick at it on their way to/from the restroom". Additionally, the location is loud, and the food/beer is average at best. I highly consider looking at other locations...
Read moreI stopped in for Happy Hour, never been there before. Just at the outlet in PA Christmas shopping. The barmaid suggested trying the French dip sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. I also had a Long Island Ice Tea, which was a bit watered down, but I’m a slow sipper; so it could have been the melted ice. After being served, the bar tender was going through coughing spells. She kept coughing in her hand, and did not follow up with washing them. I witnessed her scooping ice to make drinks and passing napkins to customers. I wanted to order dinner to go for my husband, this ordeal gave me a change of heart. Also I am a health care professional this was very disappointing. Germs from unwashed hands can be transferred to other people and objects. This situation should be addressed as a safety precaution, especially when dealing...
