A second installation, and more incredible service from Chris at Tekris. He worked with me and our installer to ensure we get the correct equipment for another RV. My comments below still stand. 5 stars again!

Chris at Tekris says he's a terrible salesman. But, he is most definitely one of the best customer service people I have ever encountered! Our new RV included a solar panel, and nothing else. They leave it to the customer to figure out what else is needed to run the refrigerator and any other devices wanted. Not knowing anything about solar I did weeks worth of research online, which only left me more confused. One thing I did decide was Victron was the brand I wanted to go with. I called several solar dealers, but until I got to Tekris, none were willing to give me much guidance. Chris took the time to talk to me on the phone, he listened to what our needs are, answered my many, many questions, and suggested a good place for us to start. He texted with me when I had more questions, and was very generous with his time and knowledge. Most people these days are all about the bottom line, and upselling is common. Not here! One thing I was very grateful for was his suggestion to get a basic setup, see how it works, with the ability to add more equipment later, if needed.

We picked up our equipment and brought it to the RV dealer for installation. Chris was available and helpful when the installer needed guidance. When a cable was needed and not available to the dealer locally, Chris shipped it overnight.

After having all this set up, our first weekend out was a success! It was a short weekend of boondocking, but it seemed to go very well. We had some questions regarding the Victron app which monitors the system. I made an appointment with Chris to bring the RV to him so he could explain what all the information in the app means.

Not only did he thoroughly explain the app, he optimized the settings, and checked the installation to ensure it was done properly. There were a couple of minor adjustments, but one fix was crucial for optimal charging. Again, he was incredibly patient, explained everything very clearly, and made sure we understood what was important for our needs.

I purchased a new Magnum inverter from Chris and installed it my self in our motorhome. Two weeks later we headed out from Boston to Florida for a 3 month trip. We made it into Maryland on our first day with everything being powered by the inverter. My wife got up to get something from the fridge and discovered it was off. After checking the inverter panel I discovered the fault light flashing with the error message “internal bus failure”. It was 7:30 at night and I called Chris expecting to leave a message. Instead to my surprised Chris answered the phone. I described my situation and Chris told me the inverter had suffered an internal failure but, he’d had the parts to repair it if I was willing to back track to N.J. which I decided to due instead of continuing south. Chris guided me to his location, gave us power to plug in as it was 35 degrees and put us up in his lot for the night. At 8:00 a.m. Chris pulled in and removed the inverter and had it on his bench by 9:00. He proceeded to replace the 2 bad internal boards but to our surprised both new boards were junk right from Magmum. The only cure so we could continue our trip was having Chris keep our inverter, bypass the wiring so everything would be powered for the remainder of our trip as long as we ran the generator or plugged in to shore power. He also gave me a brand new battery charger so we could charge the batteries while camping. We made it to Florida an a week later got a call from Chris, he had received all new boards from Magnum and they admitted they had a bad batch of boards as well as bad inverters. Chris let me know he could come and install the newly rebuilt inverter in February or ship it to me for me to install sooner. I opted to install it myself since I had done it once already and I’m happy to report all has been fine. I apologize for such a lengthy review but I felt it necessary to pass on what a great businessman is and what a wonderful company he has. In the past year since Covid it is not the norm to find such a concerned service oriented company. I am a retired widow traveling full time in my motorhome. I contacted Chris at Tekris Power for information and a quote regarding solar panel and AGM battery installation. He was very informative and extremely knowledgeable about the process and my RV's capacities. He was able to determine the work estimate from measurements and pictures I sent him, and an appointment was made. Leading up to the big day, he gladly answered a few more questions of mine, confirmed the date and time, and was ready for me promptly at the door. The actual job went smoothly, the estimated time was accurate (I was there 6 hours that the job took), the ordered products were correct, and he and his assistant worked like a true team. Afterwards, Chris patiently explained the monitoring system, came in AT budget - no padding, no additional fees or further charges. Now - this is what takes Tekris further above and beyond satisfactory:

1. Several inquiries afterwards from Chris to ensure that the system was working properly.
2. Numerous separate follow up questions from me (I am very untechnological) - all responded to with attentive care and thoughtful courtesy.
