I like it here so far. The place mostly seems to be run by high schoolers but they seem nice enough.
Ignore old comments/complaints about old, poorly maintained equipment; if those notes were ever true, they aren't any longer. Every seat in the house is rip-free, and every piece of equipment is clean and in working order.
My only gripe is the lack of Olympic lifting. You can't drop weights, but that's pretty standard, so I can't take a star off for that alone.
The place does seem to stay fairly busy, but I have only been a member for a week, and I have only been there in the mornings (7-10am or so) on weekdays, and about 10am-noon on Saturday. Never had to wait for a machine or a weight at all during those times (I'm sure it happens though). I can definitely picture the place getting packed in the evenings, but they do have overflow parking, so if you really want to work out I would bet there is always going to be room for you to do so.
They have a more expensive membership option that allows 24 access, which is great. That said, I do agree with one other review I have read about staff failing to exercise proper diligence in requiring the people coming in to successfully scan their membership card, because that definitely poses a security risk in terms of your belongings, but also because it's frustrating to pay for a membership and see random folks coming in who appear to be getting the same thing for free. This is the reason for 4 stars...

I love West Coast Fitness. There are a lot of machines and weights to choose from, and the gym is very clean. The best part of my experience here was with my personal trainer, Mailani. I hired her because I was brand new to working out, wanted to lose weight and eat well, but didn’t know where to start. She was very kind and encouraging, and helpful with diet planning and fitness tips. She calculated a diet plan specific to my weight loss goals and body type. I worked with her for about a month to get me on a good fitness plan. She was super understanding and patient with me when I was new to a lot of the exercises she showed me. She made me feel a lot more confident in myself. I struggle with mental health issues and working with her every couple of days was really helpful for my state of mind. This gym also offers classes, from yoga to karate to zumba to spin class, and they are all included in the cost of membership. They also have tanning beds and sell apparel, energy drinks, and protein shake mixes. The childcare is super affordable ($30/month unlimited). I'm new to port orchard and I'm glad i...
Read moreHaving been a member on and off over the years I am very pleased to see that they have created a really professional gym that compares to golds Gym or any other high end establishment. They are very professional and know their business well. Casey, (the manager) is always willing to share his knowledge (Which is extensive) to anyone who asks. I have never had to wait to use a piece of equipment or weights. They purchased more new equipment to make sure that they used the all of space they had.
The upstairs is full of aerobic machines and they have some that no one else has. The down stairs is full of the latest and newest exercise machines. The free weights section has anything that a power lifter needs to get big. This is undoubtable the finest gym this side of Seattle. For less than $10.00 a week this place is a steal. I can’t say enough about the facility or the staff. Did I mention they even have a coffee stand inside.. Try to find any other gym that you can work out and...
