The story trail is handicap accessible, although parking is a lacking. The first section is paved, then it transitions to packed small gravel and dirt. Some cutoff trails cross the dirt and grass and aren't so accessible. Great trail for everyone--dogs, runners, birds, and wheeled visitors. By the way, the lagoon is a small lake, very pretty a D full of diverse native species of tres, birds, and berries. Loved the story, very appropriate to the surroundings. Lots of dog walkers out and about. (Bathrooms are locked and therefore useless.) We stayed on the trail to protect...

Great place to check out. If you are skiddish around homeless populations, depending on the time of day, this may not be your favorite place. Once upon a time, this lagoon stretched the length of San Juan to the ocean. If you walk the path, there are pages of a story placed under placards. The stories change every so often. This is a great little walk or ride if you like seeing prairie grass, a lagoon and...

Was once a nice little trail that one could walk to stay off the main road from Safeway to the food coop and uptown access but it has since become a spot for the local homeless folks for some it can be an uncomfortable experience but for those who have no problem being around people of all walks of life then it's a normal day In the park careful not to swallow any of the bugs that swarm...

This is a nice little walk and alternative to the main highway. Wish they had a trail all around. A bit isolated and some remnants of garbage/homelessness squatters but saw no people like that. If I were a single lady I don’t think I would feel comfortable walking here alone with few people around. Did see deer and the children’s story on the boards is cute. Start on west end for story.

A nice little park with a short, flat, clearly marked trail. When I was there, it was clean, no signs of trash or squatters. There is a nice big parking lot on the south side with trash cans. I especially enjoyed the Story Walk by the library. Very cool idea! I saw several bird species while I was there and some deer.
