We booked this room for a nice relaxing romantic getaway. Less than 5 minutes after checking into our to 9A Miss Rose, I received a phone call from Michael at the front desk stating that the previous guests had left something in one of the dresser drawers and ask me to look for it for him. I felt this was odd that he was asking me to do his job as I looked through the dresser drawers he stated to me it's in the bottom drawer and apparently it's very sensitive and nature. He should have come to our room and respectfully ask to look for these items on his own rather than making me do this and to see what I was about to see. Which was a drawer Full of adult toys! I was shocked and disgusted that he asked me to do this when he should have came. And that obviously the maids do not do a thorough job of cleaning and checking the room before their next to guests show up. He came to the room to get the "items"and was less than apologetic pretty much shrugged it off saying "I've seen all kinds of things working in the hotel business"I made it clear I was unhappy and that I did not feel comfortable staying in this room nothing was done to accommodate us changing rooms nothing was offered to us as a way of being apologetic for the situation. When I stated it was obvious the maids to not clean the rooms he said that they do they just don't check the drawers. I stated that I did not feel comfortable about the cleanliness of the room and requested the bed be changed with a clean new bedspread put on the bed and that I had been very much looking forward to soaking in the tub and after seeing a couple of the "items" in the drawer the thought of being in the tub disgusted me so I asked that that be cleaned as well. Had I not requested this nothing would have been done as absolutely nothing was offered as a way of trying to make things right. I left messages for the manager and received no phone calls back I finally was able to get a message through for the owner to call me. The owner John, called me the day after we checked out and was extremely rude basically stated that they do clean their rooms that he been told that " a dildo was lodged in the back of a bottom drawer"when I corrected him and told him it was a drawer full and that I took a picture that I was happy to show him he said it was unnecessary he did not want to see that. At which point I asked him and I am supposed to want to see it!? When I discussed with him at the front desk should have handled this differently and that at the very least they should have offered to send us to dinner on behalf of the hotel while they reclaimed our room he stated "well there's nothing we can do I'm sorry however there's nothing we can do. We have six sets of eyes that go over every room and our rooms are very clean"I tried again to get him to understand how are weekend was ruined because of this how I was uncomfortable in the room how I was told there was no other rooms and absolutely nothing has been done to try to rectify this situation. He could have cared less and just kept repeating that mistakes happen. If you want to be gouged for an overpriced room that's dirty and be treated with terrible service then go ahead and stay here.
