Being a former Hobby Lobby employee, I can still be completely unbiased with my review. For those who are irritated or disappointed in the removal of the 40% off coupon, just look around at all the new deals. Even some of the former your-price items have been changed to be discounted every other week. There are way more deals and way better deals than there were before. As to the one review I read about the manager that just walked around. The job of the Customer Service Manager (or CSM) is to check to see that everyone is all right, to make sure that everyone is assisted, to call over more cashiers when needed, and to make sure that no one gets mad at the cashiers (which happens quite often, usually from people who don't read the sale signs or are mad at the discontinuation of the coupon). As to the person who liked their custom frame, that’s awesome! I bought a few custom frames and worked as a custom framer for a while. I must admit that even though I do not work there anymore, I would still always go with Hobby Lobby custom frames. They are very high quality and the framers are very very well trained. As to the constant questioning of why Hobby Lobby cashiers have to type in every price and department, I believe that that was put in place instead of scanning items so that the cashiers know where everything in the store is at. This is why if you go to Hobby Lobby and ask an employee where something is at, they can at least get you to the right area for what you are looking for. Many times you will find that they can bring you to the exact spot of the item. The Portage Hobby Lobby also does a fantastic job of cleaning the bathrooms and making sure that merchandise is always displayed clearly and neatly. Read moreHorrible experience with the manager. I am a professional artist and had to go in to get sample cardstock for my business. I had permission from an employee to write down the SKU’s of each shade of paper (cardstock) on the sheets I was purchasing and did not deface any others. Another customer erroneously reported me to the manager and he came marching down the aisle at me shaking with anger and yelling at me for doing something I WASN’T DOING. Kept yelling “SHOW ME WHAT YOU’RE DOING!” even as I was trying to tell and show him. Manager proceeded to yell at me, hands shaking because he was so angry. Yelled over my attempts to tell and show him what I was doing and that I had cleared it with an employee first. Slunk away with his tail between his legs when I finally lost my temper and yelled back. He turned red in the face and half-heartedly apologized when he realized he was in the wrong. Wouldn’t face me at the registers when I went to pay and sent his assistant manager (who was very gracious and apologetic) instead. Yelling and being aggressive towards a customer based on unfound accusations by another customer is unprofessional to say the least. If a manager doesn’t know how to approach a patron calmly to investigate a situation, that person should not be a manager. Yelling at and trying to intimidate customers doing nothing wrong...

The framer had me pick out the matte board I wanted to use and told me how much it would cost and then said it would be about a 20 minute wait. I did a bit of shopping and came back for my matte. In the past, I was given the scraps, which made it worth the fee for the matte (which was $20). Imagine my surprise when I didn't see the scraps in the package and when questioned, he said they keep them. I needed the matte, so I paid for it, and when I called the store manager she told me the same thing. She said I could turn around and come back and get them this one time but they typically don't give them out. I was in the middle of construction traffic and couldn't turn in anywhere because they were paving the road. So, I basically paid for the scraps that someone else already paid for.
