Kumo Hibachi & Sushi has a trendy and inviting atmosphere that makes a great first impression. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the vibe—our server was hard to understand and very slow, which made for a frustrating dining experience. As for the food, there were some highlights and a few letdowns. The sushi was actually quite good, but it's important to note that it's priced per piece, which adds up quickly. The steak hibachi featured choice-grade meat, so the quality wasn't quite what you'd expect at this price point. The ramen was a disappointment, made with freeze-dried noodles. While the portion was large, the quality made it hard to enjoy. The miso soup tasted more like chicken broth than traditional miso, and the salad featured less-than-fresh lettuce, though the dressing was decent. Overall, while the ambiance is cool and there are a few decent menu items, the high prices just don't reflect the quality of the food or service. There's potential here, but it feels underdelivered.

This place is HORRIBLE. 1. The service and staff, especially the larger female hostess, were absolutely rude and unprofessional. 2. The food was about average for hibachi flavors. The chef did a pretty good job. It was their only redeeming quality. 3. The cleanliness of this restaurant is alarming. I am SHOCKED that such a place has remained open despite MULTIPLE health hazards, and FIRE hazards. Take a look at the photos. The grill and smoke catch above clearly hasn’t been cleaned in ages. On top of it all, the chefs cooking tools come in direct contact with the edge of the grill, meaning, it comes in contact with the disgust that you see pictured. In conclusion, I will never come here and risk catching salmonella or E. coli again. A health inspector NEEDS to make a surprise visit.

I have never experienced such poor service and terrible food quality in my life. The staff was inattentive and rude, making the entire dining experience frustrating from start to finish. The food was absolutely subpar – lacking in freshness, flavor, and presentation. The rice was hard and thick, making it inedible, and the steak was so tough that it was nearly impossible to chew or eat. To make matters worse, an 18% tip was mandatory, which felt entirely unjustified given the poor service. While I typically don’t leave very negative reviews, this experience was an exception. There are plenty of better options nearby that know how to treat their customers and serve quality food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

OK fast-food, terrible by any other metric.

I went here for my birthday just the other day, excited for Hibachi and Sushi. The prices were enormous, so we decided to get just Hibachi and a side of calamari. I got steak, my Aunt got shrimp, and both came with soup and a salad.

The salad was Iceberg lettuce that seems to have come out of a premade bag, topped with a tasty sauce. I could have fit the whole salad, sauce and all, in the palm of my hand.

The soup was a light broth green onions and three mushroom slices, about 1 cup. It tasted fine.

The Calamari was the toughest rings of squid I have ever had, fried in an incomplete coating and was greasier than KFC. The portion was tiny.

The hibachi came, and the fried rice was tasty enough- Though it was just overcooked eggs, rice, and minced garlic. The vegetables all seemed fresh, and were chopped decently. The steak seemed to be quality, perhaps 4-6oz, and was chopped into approximately equally sized cubes. The shrimp was also quality, large and seemed fresh. My Aunt's shrimp was put on the grill before my steak, and lay on the grill longer than the steak. My steak was cooked pretty well, though at best only two sides of each cube had any kind of sear- At best. The shrimp was extremely overcooked.

There was no seasoning for my steak. Not even salt. I was given a mayonnaise sauce and we had to snag soy sauce from another table. The shrimp had a light glaze to it, but that mild flavor was drowned out by the sheer quantity of oil that was dumped onto the grill at each step of the process. The chef had to have used almost a full cup of oil between our two dishes, and it took the mediocre food to something that was terrible. Not inedible, just the kind of gross feeling you get after drowning popcorn in movie theater butter- Except nothing about this dish was fun to eat.

The price? With gratuity, which is a mandatory 18%, the total bill was just about $90. The ingredients couldn't have cost more than $20, and that's if I got the priciest versions of each that...

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time was for my 21st birthday. I unfortunately have multiple allergies and had to ask for rice with no eggs and asked if the vegetarian option came with peas to which our waitress replied “there aren’t peas in it.” Our chef was sociable and made it fun, but my order came with peas. I explained to the waiter that I couldn’t eat this, and instead of making me a new one he gave my order to my friends and I was left with only rice while having to pay for the whole meal. Tonight (2 months later) we went back for my friends birthday. I was worried about allergies again so I planned on sharing my girlfriends order with her because of the previous experience. I explained I wasn’t ordering because of this and while I know not ordering isn’t polite, I was open to ordering something else off the menu that wasn’t Hibachi. The waiter was incredibly rude to me and my friends and yelled at me that I couldn’t share with my friend. He scolded my friend for trying to order a drink while ordering her food, and rolled his eyes at us for wanting separate bills. This is the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I walked out and let my friends continue to eat so as to not ruin my friends dinner. The water tastes gross, we have gotten hair in our food before, and my girlfriend didn’t get what she ordered tonight. The pattern at this place is incredibly poor service and no attempt to rectify their mistakes. No one should ever try...

It wouldn't let me go lower then 1 star but if i could i would... first and very last time i ever go here... start off waiting for a decent time in their "awesome waiting area." get to the tables and it took 10 mins to order our drinks as she kept walking past us making sure not to make eye contact. Order a soda (diet coke) and water. Their syrup or something was bad because the diet coke almost made me puke. Took another 15 minutes for her to come back to order And get something new to drink (which she forgot both times after coming back to the table). She brought us the most disgusting clear soup we've both ever had... not only cold but the taste was horrible.. the salads dressing watered down... still no new drink. Finally after about another 15 minutes the food comes out (2 $25 meals) not one streak of steam coming off our plates. Steak and chichen were cold. When i approached them they told me because my steak was cooked medium it wasnt going to be hot. But assumed 20% off just my meal would make everything ok... and then started throwing more excuses and basically telling me im a lier... when we leave i couldn't even go get other food cause we both weren't feeling good and now me and my girlfriend are here the next day laying in bed still feeling absolutely horrible... but according to the staff this is what you're suppose to expect and...
