The actual place We visited is called ", The place to shoot" and seems to be the same place I remember from back in the 90s except I don't recall the costs being so steep! 100 rounds of Magtech 9mm 115 fmj ammo, 1 shooting lane and 5 targets came to almost $60! And that is with a Lifetime Membership. It's nice that They kept the Members info on file... apparently my membership allowed my Wife to shoot as my "guest". The counter man was VERY nice and helpful and Thanked My Wife and I for stopping by.
Also, be advised that if you bring your own ammunition, there is a $5 / 50 round corkage charge at this range. Also if shooting 9mm, the ammo that they sell is the above-mentioned Magtech 115 grain Full Metal Jacket. It is very very energetic in Our opinion for range ammo and the recoil in a lightweight pistol is substantial! Aluminum cased ammunition is not allowed at this. Only Factory loaded brass cased ammo is allowed.
The main reason I gave 3 stars is due to the Cost, with the extra charge for bringing One's own ammo also being a factor. If renting a firearm from the range, then I fully understand ammo costs etc.
Even though it is great to have a place to improve One's shooting skills out of the rain, be prepared to pay what seems to be a bit steep for what You receive. My Wife and I recommend researching other options in The...
Read moreI’m calling this one a 3. I paid extra for early arrival, only to arrive and find my room wasn’t ready, but was offered a smaller room. Due to my schedule I took the smaller room. The room was nice, everything worked and was comfortable. But every morning between 2 and 3 am I was awaken by what sounded like a door slamming …over and over for about 30 minutes. Could hear people talking through the walls and stomping around. The location is convenient to the airport, access to the 5, 84, and 10 minutes to downtown. Only 5 minutes across the Columbia to the north, to Vancouver, WA. Homeless camps very close but that seems to be the case everywhere in Portland. Drifters constantly wandering through the parking lot, checking the cigarette can and trash bins. My room wasn’t serviced the whole week I was there, when I asked the front desk was told I had to request service. When I asked for towels and wash cloths was told no wash cloths available at the time. I also had to take out my own trash. The hot tub was closed, and there’s no pool so that was a bummer. Staff were nice and everything was clean. Free breakfast in the...
