Holy flood wall!! This thing is massive and a great way to post the history of Portsmouth. Start at the beginning and walk the entire length of the wall for the full experience. At one end there is a visitor center with restrooms and a plethora of information for other activities for the city. We parked on the street at the beginning. I didn’t see any parking lots dedicated to the wall but I’m sure there are some open lots around. We just decided to grab what we found. I completely recommend a stop to learn about the rich history of the town.

I've visited the mural five times now. It's one of the places I enjoy showing guests visiting Ohio. My favorite part is the cat (which was the artist's daughter's pet) - very realistic and unexpected. Each panel along the 1500 foot mural displays the history of the town at various points in time and each is well done. The area is safe and peaceful. You'll have an uninterrupted opportunity to observe and absorb each section of this work of art.

I've been here on numerous occasions, but every time I'm near here with someone who hasn't seen them, I always play tour guide. The amount of hand painted detail on each panel is awe-inspiring, and each time I visit, I pick out something I've missed prior. If you're ever in the Portsmouth, Ohio area, you owe yourself to follow the "Floodwall Mural" signs. You'll be glad you did.

This is the second time we've walked the flood wall area in Portsmouth, Ohio. I love reading about historical places. One of these days(!!!!!!!) I will be able to stay long enough to read EVERYTHING! The flood wall is so fascinating and the artwork is just absolutely beautiful. If you've never done research on the GREAT 1937 FLOOD... OMGOSH, you really should! The flood mark in Portsmouth in 1937 was over 72 feet!. I strongly encourage people to take the time to see this beautiful wall, and visit Portsmouth, Ohio, when you can. By the way...stop for an amazing meal at one of the local restaurants down on...

I had a look at the Portsmouth Flood Wall Murals; they're actually awesome! It resembles a big outside art gallery situated on the riverbank. The murals tell a history of the area, and the artwork is spectacular. Learning while taking an enjoyable walk is an enjoyable experience. Furthermore, it's totally free! Excellent spot for some cool photographs or simply to chill and take pleasure in the view. If you are in Portsmouth, you have to find these murals; they are a true highlight...
