Updating review: Summer of 2024 this restaurant was purchased by another family after the originals decided to retire. The menu is updated with adding some items and keeping popular items. This is the epitome of a cafe with lunch items, smoothies, coffee, etc. My favorite items are the Chicken/Pesto/Mushroom Panini with cheese on Rye bread. My second favorite is the turkey crunch wrap with extra lettuce on a spinach wrap. Each item comes with a pickle and potato chips or sub for fruit. For beverages, they have coffee, latte, iced coffee, variety of cans of pop, smoothies, fresh brewed iced tea and hot tea. My mom loves the unsweetened tea. You can order an item to go, eat outside, or sit inside at a table for table service. They have pastries they make as well, including the yummy cinnamon roll, baklava, cookies, blondie bars, etc. They have a soup of the day made in-store. They have started doing a Dinner Friday with a set menu for 4 courses. There is 2 restrooms inside. The only thing I would adjust is to have pretzels as an option for the side or sunchips. I would also ask the employees to wear a business shirt so you can tell they work there.
I hope they buy local produce from the local farmers' this...
Read moreI took my daughter here for a quick lunch after the gym, and we were happy with our decision! She was satisfied with her salad and drinks, and she's, at times, a picky eater. I ordered the half soup/sandwich combo, so I got a half Reuben/Tortellini soup with Italian sausage. The Reuben was great as always. That soup, idk how much goes into making it, but it was amazing! They do a soup du jour type thing, and I don't think I could have ever been more satisfied with my choice.
Service was excellent & timely, and they were not in your face. We made it in just before the lunch rush, so we got one of the best seats in the house (window) and didn't have to wait long.
We were on our way out and my daughter noticed that they make macarons, so I was obligated to let her try them. They were delicious, who would have assumed otherwise beforehand?
We love coming here. Try to...
Read moreI used to really love Market Street Cafe but I feel like it has gone downhill in the last couple of years. I used to go here for lunch very often when I was doing CCP at Shawnee State. It seems like it has really changed, I think maybe new management? But the prices have increased considerably, which I could normally attribute to inflation, but the portions have also been cut it seems which doesnât make much sense. Also the quality of the food isnât as good as it used to be. I always get the Cobb salad and my boyfriend gets the chicken mushroom melt, both of which increased in price by more than $5, and was not anywhere near as good as I remember. Used to be $8.50 for the salad, now it was $14 and the panini was was $13 when it used to be like $9. Ingredients also seemed to have changed. The staff was fine and did their jobs but I was very sad and...
