While we were visiting the area prior to college graduation, we had the pleasure of doing all of the 59:Escape Adventures and loved each one.
We travel full time and do escape rooms all over the country and the rooms here are among the best we've done.
If you're new to escaping, I'd recommend The Pin Argyle Diamond Heist. It has fun twists and turns and the puzzles are challenging but straightforward.
The Case of the Mad Scientist requires a little more stretching, but is still a room escapable by a capable group.
Our group was torn on which of the other two rooms were their favorites. The Pirates Cove and DB Cooper were both challenging and took us right up to the time limit, but we never felt like time was wasted while we wondered "what are we missing." The puzzles were clever and the experiences were totally immersive.
While all of the rooms can be done by two people (sometimes our group of four attended in two groups), we all thought DB Cooper was best done by more than two. Both groups of two escaped, but it took all of our puzzling knowledge, and doing a lot of fast moving to get it all done.
Like most people, I'm sure, we tend to debrief the rooms on the way home. It's pretty common for someone to say, "Yeah, that puzzle just totally didn't make sense," or "I never would have figured that out without a clue." These rooms had none of that. We enjoyed every moment.
Doing four rooms in three weekends was a lot, but we wanted to make sure we didn't miss a single one, they were that good. The guides knew when we were off track and were concentrating hard to know exactly where we were in each room so that if we did have a question, there was none of the... "Have you done... yet?" or "Did you find....?" They knew EXACTLY what we had and had not tried.
Wonderful time was had by all. Thank you so...
Read moreThis is an update to my earlier review, as we have gone to 59:Escape again.
Everything I originally mentioned is still valid, in addition to a few more rooms to experience. Our family attempted the Pirate Code room and ultimately failed to uncover all the clues in time. None the less, the adventure was of the highest caliber and the effects (lighting, sound, props) top notch. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to do something more interactive, collaborative or just mind stimulating. It is well worth the price.
Our family has been here twice to attempt to escape. One successful adventure, one not so much. The events are extremely well constructed and the puzzles challenging. They allow you to ask for help or even guide you a bit, if you are so inclined. The dynamics of team work (or not) show up very quickly under the stress of the clock. While we mostly worked out the puzzles there were times we were almost yelling at each other. Communication is the key. If you are so inclined to these sorts of things, it is important that everyone is okay talking out loud about their own ideas and observations, as it often sparks someone else to have a 'light bulb' moment. All in all a great way to enjoy an hour away from your...
Read moreI took my fiance here for a surprise birthday gift & we absolutely loved it! The staff was very kind & helpful, we were very impressed by the sheer level of effort that went into our room & the layers of clue hunting we had to do to figure everything out. We loved the mad scientist room & since we didn't get very far we CANNOT wait to try again!
For those wondering if it was a family friendly adventure or a scary adventure, the one we did was 100% family friendly & not scary at all. You feel the pressure of the clock ticking down but that is kind of the point, otherwise nothing jumps out at you, there are no scary clue and nothing inappropriate at all! I cannot say how impressed we are that they made it deep and mentally stimulating while keeping it clean. Wonderful wonderful job!
The other thing I will say is that I have multiple illnesses and am disabled by one of them and I was able to lift objects and move about the rooms no problem! So that was a huge relief to me. Again this was for the mad scientist room. We haven't done the other rooms yet but we look forward...
