You're probably reading through reviews to decide which of the two office furniture stores (the other being Office Furniture Center) to visit.
Go here.
That is, if you:
• Value customer service • Want pre-owned furniture with very few, if any, flaws
I went to OFC first. Customer service was non-existent. I was looking for a task chair and no one bothered to help or educate me on the different features. While OFC have more furniture, their furniture are stained, marked, and peeling off. If I'm going to spend 8+ hours in a chair, I want it to be in great condition.
I visited Rework Office Furniture (ROF) after putting a $125 chair (with scuffs) on hold at OFC. I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at ROF. It's definitely a step above OFC with a bright, polished reception area.
I have to give a shout out to Byron, our salesperson, who was incredibly knowledgeable of different chairs. He demonstrated their features which can be difficult to find with the ergonomically engineered designs. At OFC, I had to figure out how to use the chairs myself because no one was around to help me. Byron was both attentative and unobstrusive. After sharing his product knowledge, he left my partner and I to try the chairs ourselves. No one likes overbearing and overly-assertive salespeople. He returned to the showroom a few minutes later and helped us decide between two chairs. I went with a Steelcase. He wrapped it and carried it to our car.
You're probably wondering how much their chairs cost. I can tell you that my chair is ~/+ $1k MSRP with the configurations but I got mine at a fraction of the cost!
Sure, the Steelcase Amia chair at OFC was $125 in used condition. Screw THAT! I got an AMAZING chair at ROF that's nearly brand-new instead. It was totally worth paying a little (and I do mean little) more for ROF's chairs.
I had a great experience at ROF. I'm very happy about my purchase. It feels so great to save a lot of money on very expensive things! I was giddy on the drive home.
You can go to IKEA Schaumburg and spend $200 on their nicest chair OR you can go OFC and find dusty AF chairs without any help from a salesperson OR you can go to ROF and find $$$/designer chairs for +60% off and find one that's perfect for you and your needs. The choice is obvious unless you're an IKEA...
Read moreI'm so happy I connected with Andy Svalesen at Rework Office Furniture! I was looking for a very specific office chair that I believe is no longer being made but that I'd so comfortably sat in at a job for years. I wanted to purchase one for my home office. I saw it was out of stock on the Rework website and reached out to find out if more were coming in. Andy said he'd keep his eye out for any to come in, and before I knew it, he was emailing me to tell me that he saw a shipment of them come into the loading dock! Andy worked his magic and was able to secure one of the chairs for me. Even though it was just a single office chair that I wanted to purchase - not a large amount of money or product - Andy provided top notch service. It was clear his goal from start to finish was to help me get the chair for which I was so desperately searching and to provide exceptional service to me as a customer.
Securing the chair was just the start of this fantastic transaction. Though all of the chairs in the shipment were claimed, when I went to pick mine up, he escorted me into the warehouse and showed me all of the chairs to let me select the one I wanted from the batch of Argos chairs. He patiently waited while I tested some of them out until I found "the one." From his diligence in finding and reserving my Argos chair to his friendly and service-oriented demeanor to his excellent communication and patience in answering my questions, I was SO pleased with this transaction from start to finish. Above and beyond! Rework is so fortunate to have Andy on their team. Next time I need office furniture, I know exactly who to call....
Read moreRework is by far the best find! If you are in search of an office chair, office furniture, and if you want or need a piece of furniture that you have chosen from Rework reupholstered, than this is absolutely the best place in the Chicago area. Hands down. The customer service by Terry Cray is unbeatable. He is pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and provides an excellent caliber of customer service/sales. They have a large selection of Herman Miller, Steel Case and other high end office chairs that have been refurbuished and look brand new!! And if you are looking for a reasonably priced chair, they have that as well. The other Office Furniture stores in the area do NOT compare. Rework is clean, and comfortable and does not feel like a giant warehouse, like some other Office furniture stores. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but they deserve it. In addition, the girl at the from desk, (forgive me I forgot her name) was also knowledgable, pleasant, and helpful. I purchased an unusual modern office chair and they recovered it for me with FREE fabric I picked from the leftover bolts they have. And a shout out to "Shorty" who did the most amazing job recovering my Girsberger Chair as well. Go here, you will not be disappointed. I have told all my friends...
