The Society is an exceptional rescue because they quarantine and disease test every bird that needs adoption. EVERY BIRD. Even pet stores do not complete disease testing before adoption.
I met my wonderful Cody there. He sure is dreamy! He's lost a bit of feathers, but bald is beautiful!
Visit the rescue with an open mind. Take advice from the volunteers that spend countless hours, days, months, and even years with these birds -- they know them best.
The rescued, feathered souls are there by no fault of their own; but need the patience of a loving human to adopt them!
I could not have been more encouraged to adopt Cody if it were not for Laurie and Mel. Laurie is a tough soul with a smile and Mel is strong minded with a heart bigger than the moon. Everyone at that rescue wants the very best for these feathers.
I won't lie, I adopted a bird that bites and lunges. But he chose me and I chose him back and we will work through his previous traumatic experiences for years to come!

Read moreIf you love parrots, you have to stop by and say hi to all the ones this outstanding rescue is taking care of.
Truly a gem, I love that the birds get so much attention and care, and they seem very attached to their caregivers and volunteers, which is important because parrots don't tend to trust easily.
If you have spare time, they have opportunities to volunteer for all ages, and bonus, you get to help socialize the birds.
The best part is that it's not only a rescue, they do lots of other things as well! You can feel safe boarding your bird here while you're away, get their beak/nails/wings immediately or clipped and they have a huge selection of bird food, snacks, toys and supplies.
Please consider stopping by, whether you need some supplies, to volunteer or donate or to fall in love with a potential...
Read moreWe adopted a Sun Conure from this rescue in January 2023 and found this to be a very welcoming, clean, professional organization. This is our first pet bird, and we needed guidance along the way as birds are challenging pets and unlike other species in terms of training. Parrot Outreach volunteers have been very generous with their time and offered much invaluable help. Having this support has been vital, and I would highly recommend adopting from a rescue for this reason, especially if you are new to birds. Parrot Outreach in particular does this...
