IHOP — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

!!!!Very poor IHOP that isn't ran well or coordinated at all. One of the dirtiest restaurants I have been in!!!!!

The bathrooms were filthy and disgusting. My wife complained that the women's room smelled like mold and mildew. The mens restroom has what looks like 5 different soaps in the dispenser, the sink was covered in black grime, there's no paper towels, and the floor was so sticky my shoes almost stuck when I lifted my feet.

The eating area is also filthy and untenable. Spider webs everywhere in the entryway and dust accumulation on all the walls. I noticed COCKROACHES as we were sitting there waiting. I get it's Florida and some bugs happen given BUT GROSS!!! My wife noticed termites toward the end of our meal crawling around the windows. Very unhealthy eating environment. I overheard one of the employees talking about how they moved one of the booths a few days ago and there was a decaying RAT UNDER THE BOOTH!!! That is so vile and gross and unhealthy. 😨

The food was awful and tasted terrible. The bacon tasted old and like it was fried in week old fryer oil. I like crispy bacon and asked for it crispy and I think they deep fried it in used old oil. My omelette also had slimy mushrooms and had a weird film all over the eggs. My wife's pancakes were way overcooked and left a greasy film in her mouth. NOTHING at this IHOP was good or even remotely worth the visit. Very very very filthy store and kitchen and terrible food.

The servers and kitchen staff were also very rude to one another. The servers were fine to us and guests but between each other they were rude. I'm assuming the kitchen manager or store manager was the one YELLING from the kitchen for the servers to constantly seat, check the door, door, seat, menu count, seat the door, etc. we heard this nonstop and it was very disruptive and quite annoying as...

My wife and I came to your location today at approximately 7:15PM. Upon entering your establishment we were greeted by a half smiling waitress by the name of Kasinda. She asked how we were which was nice enough and courteous and than when we returned the same question to her she admitted she was struggling. Not a confident portrayal even if you are new. When we were seated she didn't start by asking us for our drink order even though that would have been the right thing to do, instead she seated us and just walked away. Approximately 5 to 10 minutes later she returned to ask us what we were having we had to prompt her to start with drinks and an appetizer, she returned with drinks and our appetizer and we only had one set of silverware at the table when we should have had 2 sets. We gave our entree order which was than delivered in separate pieces and not to our satisfaction at all. Nothing was said from her to apologize for any inconvenience, instead she stated that she was new and only having been employed for a week and left by herself by management. Not a valid excuse from her nor would it be from anybody. We have come to your establishment many many times in the past and have always had a great experience. This time though leaves me with a very sour taste in my mouth. If this is how your establishment is going to be managed than I may no longer come back. I leave it up to your management to win my business back and regain my confidence in your service. Such a shame to have such completely incompetent people such as this person Kasinda working for you when they clearly don't have what it takes to make it in...

It will be a long time before we give this particular IHOP another chance. It's truly hit or miss with the wait staff at this location, and the past few visits have definitely been misses. Today was just the straw that broke the camel's back I guess. I walked in this morning with 3 kids just before 8am, was seated right away by the woman who would also be our waitress who said she'd be right back.... and then crickets. We watched as every single other person who walked in after we did was given their drinks and put in their food orders. The other waitress on duty was on her A game with her tables , while ours just never came back. After nearly TWENTY MINUTES of sitting patiently with the kids, and receiving ZERO service (not even a drink order), we got up to leave. The other waitress knew exactly what the issue was and quietly apologized for what had happened, while our absent waitress finally noticed we were leaving and walked over to us. I simply said that we could wait no longer, that I needed to go somewhere to get my kids some breakfast before their school started. She said "Sorry hun.", and that was that. I would've considered sticking around, but with the other tables that were seated after us who had already put in their food orders, I knew it would be way too long of a wait at that point.
