First time here and initially I loved it. Food was amazing and drink options were great! The man behind the bar was a little odd and brash, but it wasn't until I went to close my tab that I saw an interaction he had with 3 women that made my jaw drop.
These women came in 10 minutes before close (they didn't realize that when they first arrived). He said to them something along the lines of I can get you something but it needs to be quick, but I'm not serving HER beer (& pointed to one of them). They laughed, thinking he was joking, and they even said that out loud when he doubled down that he wouldn't serve her. He then said she was too drunk and he doesn't serve drunk people and he ranted about how he's an honors guy etc. He was very abrasive and rude. The woman he pointed to said that she was the DD and hadn't even been drinking, then he cut her off and said it's her eyes and how she overreacted to something when they first came in the door. (She was trying to explain to him, I think something about how she has hearing aids and needed to adjust them when she had first walked in the door but he was yelling over her so it was a little hard for me to follow. She also has these stunning blue eyes that are very unique. Why he would think she's drunk because of pretty eyes I have no idea.) He then told them they could order food but it needed to be fast, then just walked away from them to get someone else's order ready. They were shocked and ended up leaving, and one of them said "you just lost business." When he walked back over for me to close out my tab he muttered under his breath "well that worked." This is definitely not a person that should be working in the service industry. He was incredibly rude, aggressive, loud and completely inappropriate with these women.
Also, I brought my dog thinking there was a good outdoor area and there's just a few picnic tables shoved up against the wall in the front of the building. Definitely not an ideal place for dogs.
I will...
Read moreI would have giving this a 5 star review because the food was very good!! but when we walked into the place nobody said a word as we paused in the door way momentarily looking around weather to seat ourself or wait to be seated. There no signs to let a new customers like me know. After we found a table we waited there for a 10 minutes then I went up to the bar and ask the dark haired lady behind the bar if it was a order at bar or wait staff service she turn and rudly said I'm coming .I was a bit surprised on her unfriendly response like I was bothering her. So I went back to my table and said she said she was coming needless to say she never came to our table. After waiting a few more minutes finally went to bar and asked the other bartender who was friendly and willing to inform!.. and serve us. The lady bartender never tried to help us or acknowledge us the entire time there.. If your not wanting to say anything to customers coming in for the first time you want a nice have a Big welcome to Peace River sign or easel with a few direction on seating and ordering it would help..... tremendously!!!. Also if your not drinking beer bring your own cup and ice...because they don't have either of those bar staples available to drink your bottle soda. I do wish them well on making it a successful business but they may want to be a Bit more friendly to new customers coming in to...
Read moreLots of Beer With Thai Food and Sushi We were driving through Punta Gorda after an event and I wanted to quench a thirst. Did a little web search and found this place. Any place with Beer Company in the name deserves a visit. So I was expecting a brewpub where they brew a few of their own beers. Not here. They have 20 or more beers on tap from different brewers and will gladly offer a sample before you commit to a full glass. The tap board shows name of the beer, type of beer, ABV, brewer and cost per pour size. I had both the Coconaut Porter and the Left Hand Milk Stout and they were great as always. Our bartender did tell us that food orders were backed up to an hour so we needed to order quickly in we wanted to eat before closing. After telling him we just stopped for a brew, he said their Thai and Sushi food business is booming and it usually is backed up as all is made fresh. We will keep it in mind. The décor inside I guess could be called cozy outside, inside. There are seats at the bar counter and picnic tables inside. There is some seating outside. They have foosball, darts and maybe other games to have some fun. A nice comfortable place to share some brew, play some games and maybe dine on...
