Golden Corral Buffet & Grill — Restaurant in Punta Gorda

Went to Golden Coral Mar. 15, 2021 Monday at 5:45 pm. With my Wife & Daughter Very Very Disappointed at Store #2543 in Fort Myers. For Dine in. The only thing that was Hot was the Soup. Mashed Potatoes were good Luke warm, Chicken livers good but Luke warm. Ham was a little salty for our taste. Green Vegetables Ok but not Hot. Fried Chicken Ok but just lukewarm Fried fish and breaded fish Ok but lukewarm. When entering the young cashier was scratching her head handling money and handing out food gloves. Very unsanitary in these and No mask. While eating in the front row Some employees were wearing mask and some weren’t. A manager with shirt and tie came to the Clean dish pickup without a mask or a glove to fetch his food. Most customers were wearying gloves but not manager. Restrooms very unkept and dirty. My meal was $14.37 without soda. Wife’s meal was $17.00 and change. Some of the Salad bar bowls were empty not due to populated with customers. It was a dinner time but not many customers I know due to COVID-19 things have slowed down but not Sanitation conditions. Very short staffed our server was working her butt to keep up, Felt sorry for her. Usually when we go to Fort Myers we eat after 4pm at Chinese Buffet City with 300 items including a large variety of Sea Food. Before 4pm still 300 items gloves very clean and employees up to snuff. Sharing this for my sister - Server Ashley working tonight 7/10 at about 8pm was the most unprofessional, rude, and inattentive I’ve seen. 3 separate servers came to check on us (after scolding her for not paying attention) . Upon sitting, she told us she was “slammed” and to forgive any slow service but just ask for her if we need anything. (She had MAYBE 5 small tables in her section- while the other server had a full section. )This apparently translated to “I will not be coming by your table - you’ll need to get up and bring me your empty cup if a refill is needed”. When she did stop the one time holding dirty dishes over our plates, she informed us that my child’s drink didn’t get refills (blue raspberry lemonade we paid 75 cents extra for) but told us with an attitude. Why not charge us 75 cents for a refill if the drink was that much more than the one I got free refills for ??? A large group left from her section as we entered, and she spent all her time at those empty tables, but somehow they were still full of dishes and cups when we got up to leave an hour later.. We even saw her stop bussing empty tables (while tables that were occupied had STACKS of empty plates waiting to be removed) to “clean off the salad bar”. The salad bar attendant even told her OUT LOUD that her tables were more important. She never came back after. No refills. No plate pick...

Arrived and went through the normal routine. Went to the bar to get soup for starters. The broccoli and cheese is my go to soup. It was brown as wood and crusty like it had been there half the day. I asked the guys at the grill if someone could change it as I wasn't the only one who thought it looked nasty. They said yes. So I got another plate and sat down to eat. When i finished i went to get the soup. As no surprise it hadn't been touched!!! Not even stirred. So i asked the two ladies at the bar if anyone was going to change the soup. They said they would tell the manager (Davika). So she comes and says she isn't changing the soup that it was put out at 7pm. Its now 7:30pm. Mind you it was like that when i arrived about 7:05pm. So there is no way that that soup looked like that in less than 20 minutes. She says " If you're gonna argue with me then I will refund your money and can leave!!!" The hell I am!! Not now. So i asked if she was a manager and she said yes. I told her so you are gonna kick me out because i said you lied about the soup. I will make sure i call your Supervisor tomorrow. Her answer was.
