Quartz Hill Library — Attraction in Quartz Hill

Clean, quiet, and easy distance from our home. You need to go onto the LA Country online library system to order all the books you want to read though as they do not keep much on their own shelves. This library also does not hold the same kind of fun events that the Lancaster Library does... for example: the Harry Potter Club or the Owl STEM class, etc. So for the ease of picking up books that we chose online, we go to the Quartz Hill Library. For STEM classes and book clubs, we go to the Lancaster Library.

FYI on book donations. I just found out that any books you donate to the QH library (thus I assume all LA county libraries) only go into their garage sale. They never take the books you donate and actually put them on the shelves even if they are books in pristine condition or a like new complete series for kids to read. I was pretty shocked at the financial idiocy of it. So there is no such thing as donating books to your local library because they will never go on the library shelves. It also means you have no idea which books your book donations actually fund in the end to be on their shelves because its not what...

Very nicely built.this was only my second time at a library.i went to check out books for my kids and honestly didnt look any further than the kids books than went straight to the front to check them out.i wasnt really looking around just wanted to check them out and get out to the car to help my boyfriend with our kids that were acting up.so i sat thr books down and the guy tells me so you didnt feel like checking them out yourself? I was like what? He points to this i guess self check out.i was like i didnt even see it he goes while ill do it this time but for next time its there.i had to hold back telling him something.he was super rude about it.he could have said it way differently.like im new to the library how am i supposed to know.first thought was wow your so lazy you cant check my 5books out.since i was un aware of the self check out.it wasnt busy.so for him to be rude really made me.ill stick to the lancaster library where they had no problem doing there job and checking...

It's good. The staff is helpful and willing to help. It's a beautiful new library but it needs more books. I go there every 3 weeks to get my young kids books, and since the pandemic, the young reader chapter books have gotten much slimmer. It's best to reserve your books online, but sometimes you have no title in mind and go to browse for a good book, and you can't do that if the shelves...
