Clean, quiet, and easy distance from our home. You need to go onto the LA Country online library system to order all the books you want to read though as they do not keep much on their own shelves. This library also does not hold the same kind of fun events that the Lancaster Library does... for example: the Harry Potter Club or the Owl STEM class, etc. So for the ease of picking up books that we chose online, we go to the Quartz Hill Library. For STEM classes and book clubs, we go to the Lancaster Library.
FYI on book donations. I just found out that any books you donate to the QH library (thus I assume all LA county libraries) only go into their garage sale. They never take the books you donate and actually put them on the shelves even if they are books in pristine condition or a like new complete series for kids to read. I was pretty shocked at the financial idiocy of it. So there is no such thing as donating books to your local library because they will never go on the library shelves. I was like what? I go there every 3 weeks to get my young kids books, and since the pandemic, the young reader chapter books have gotten much slimmer.
