Well to the people that had a bad experience, I have to say - Just try it one more time, It really is worth it.. It is a busy restaurant even during the week and my wife and I have made it our local hangout. The prices are not high, unless you are comparing to other local Palmdale restaurants. For the money, some of the best food we have eaten in So Cal. and when I say So Cal - I mean from Central, CA to San Diego, we go everywhere. The service since the first time has been amazing and We are now officially regulars, and we found the restaurant from other people's reviews on Google.

We can't say enough about the restaurant. Orlando and Jaime behind the bar Rock. Sarah the hostess, Ruthie the Manager, Tammy the server, Heck Even Steven and Brandon who bar back and bus are great and make us always feel welcome... We Love going there. We have tried so many items on the menu it, and we are constantly impressed. The steaks, the pizza's the salmon, the Hamburgers are all first rate. We try most items and some of their specials. Jalapeno Poppers, Just the right amount of spice with a great Cream Cheese filling.

The drinks are great, from the Annie Oakley (Sweet\tart Martini), the Huckleberry (Lemony Martini) to their great Selection of Bourbons (Elijah Craig, Basil Hayden's, Knob Creek Small Batch 100) you can find anything for any taste with some crazy concoctions to boot.

Not every visit to a restaurant is going to be great, but there is a reason why this place is so popular, it really is that good. We have brought many friends and family there and it has always been great... We even got the story about the name and the Great wooden plank flag...

We went to the broken bit to check it out. We made reservations to have diner there for our date night.

We decided to try the jalapeño poppers since our waitress hyped them up and they had good reviews. When we got them we were highly disappointed first of all they were Cold, very cold when we received them, I barely ate one it was honestly gross and l never found the elk sausage it was allegedly stuffed with. The cheese was cold overall disgusting.

We tried the 30 day dry aged prime new york strip 14 Oz steak and the 8 oz petite filet mignon.

The filet mignon was tasty, tender and juicy I also requested a side of the chimichurri sauce to elevate the flavor of the steaks I wasn't a fan of the new york steak it was a bit chewy.

For the sides We tried the cast iron charred vegetables and the jalapeño Mac and cheese. The vegetables were good the Mac and cheese was kind of bland and a Lil on cold side which ruined the gooeyness of the cheese.

We tried the jalapeño Margarita and it was good. It had salt n peeper on the rim that was a nice touch.

Overall the service was great the staff was friendly and the steak was OK. We can't say it was the best steak we ever had and the rest of the dishes being cold dint help.

This place is a Lil pricy and Overall We expected it to be better than what we...

In short, The Broken Bit has the best food I have ever had in the AV, hands down. Some people may think the prices are high, but for the quality of food, service and atmosphere I think the price point is right on.

It was recommended to me by a liquor distribution representative named Lawrence, and I am grateful for the tip. I'm in love with this place.

They know how to cook a steak. The appetizers I've tried are amazing. They have a grilled jalapeno appetizer that is superb and their quail starter is also perfect. They have a poblano cheese grits that is a great side dish with just about any of their entrees. Their garlic mashed potatoes are also excellent.

There are a couple things that are easy to explain that make this place unique. First they have this "all american" thing going on with their liquor. They have a wide whiskey selection and offer whiskey flights of .5oz shots that are fun to share with a group. They also have a relationship with the local goat cheese producers, Soledad Farms - and they feature many different flavored goat cheeses in their dishes. Its an excellent mix of local businesses.

All the service I have received their has also been excellent.

I have nothing but praise for this place. I wish them nothing...

Second time visiting. First visit was great! Food was prefect! The place has a great down to earth feeling - with classic country music being the norm. Drinks are awesome - they don't skimp on the alcohol. Today, however, was not so great. We didn't eat ALL day in anticipation of having a great and expensive steak dinner. The steak was OVER seasoned - too salty... although we did our best to enjoy it - it just want wasn't possible. Everything else was good. But the salty steaks killed date night. After notifying the manager/ owner - who was very nice - we were disappointed a replacement or comp was not offered. What we spent for 2 people - $300 - is more than we normally spend at Black Angus for the entire family of 5 (4 adults & 1 HS Sr.)!!! With drinks!!!! In the 30 plus years of going to Black Angus - we've never had a quality control issue. Sadly, we won't be going back... back to Black Angus - $69 dinner for 2 (2 main dishes, 4 sides, 1 shared dessert - all big in size)... with drinks, appetizers, and tips - we normally spend a good $125-$175 for two! And we take leftovers for the 3 college/HS kids!
